Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
-
Oakdesign shot right over my head with that one, I have 0 idea on how to add more steerpoints to the map for other flights… Your flights steerpoints are automatically generated on the CPD map with (I think?) ALL of the Ice’s 4.35-x versions. You just need to run the sequence of saving/loading/printing before you start the profile or you need to reset Helios if it’s already running when you did your work in the sim…
From version 4.35-3 onwards:
Steerpoints, Course Lines, Pre-Planned Threats, User Designated Targets and User Drawn Lines are now extracted from Callsign.ini and are available to be displayed on the CPD maps.
The option to use a map saved from WDP is now no longer considered necessary and this has been removed.Copy all. I’ll try to Load the DTC. That is one step that I have not done in the past. Thanks to you all!

Hi all. I just love Ice’s profile and couldn’t do without it. One weird problem though which exists since all(?) or most(?) versions. Every once in a while when touching a knob or switch in Helios BMS initiates an seat ejection. From one second to the next I find myself under canopy. Even stranger is that this happens even though I have disabled the SimEject callback. Any ideas anyone? All help is greatly appreciated.

every touch input you make creates a ghost mouse click in pit if mouse input is not turned off. so if you click on the touchscreen but your mouse cursor is currently snaped to the ejection handle in pit you eject.
I highly recommend to use the turn mouse off by using the button in the profile and only turn it on if you really want to interact with the mouse in 3d pit
which toggles between OTWMouseButtonsIn3dEnabled and OTWMouseButtonsIn3dDisabled. -
Hi Oakdesign, tnx for your answer. I‘ll give it a try.

I am using SpaceDesk in order to replicate monitors. Actually I have 4 tablets upon SpaceDesk: two for MFDs and two for Lateral Consoles. A fifth monitor is wired connected to my mother board just for a MAP (no touchscreen).
I notice some lag in the MFD textures but I don’t use them as primary, I just have MFD texture to reference the OBS’s. I try to use the cockpit itself as reference, if possible.so…
I wonder if the quantity of monitor would, in some way, decrease substantially the Desktop performance or the connection quality in a MP section…. (or both).

MP is not influenced by the ammount of monitors that mainly you networl bandwith and ping times.
With Spacedesk over wifi you might encounter some lag if run over wifi. The alternative wich is basically without lag is DuetDisplay with USB wired but that only allows for one tablet as additional monitor. You might increase the performance of Spacedesk connected devices if you don’t run them over Wifi but USB thethered.
Below is is comparison of Ingame, Helios on a HDMI touchscreen and Ipad over Duet Display

If you have windows 10 and a supported wifi adapter there is a hotspot option you can enable and connect your mobile devices directly to windows 10 wifi adapter.
You can improve the latency by at least 200% and it’s nearly as good as tethered connection.
Also I set the option for 60fps in space desk.

Thanks. I Will try both ways. :lever:

Hi gr_chris_pilot, Your solution seems good to me, but I quite don’t figure out how to do it. I have an USB WIFI adapter available here. I understand that the process is:
1 - connect the Wifi USB adapter to the Desktop
2 - create a hotspot within windows 10 ( This is where I am a little lost here, mobile hotspot option perhaps?)
3 - connect the tablets wifi to this hotspot and NOT to my home wifi.
4 - Run Helios ControlIs that correct?
Cheers :yo:

This is exactly what I do!
The pc is gonna share its antenna in order to provide internet to the tablet as well. This is not gonna affect your pc internet speed.
It’s faster that way because there is no router relay lag in between. For me it works really nice!

Thanks, I will try that :yo:

Just a suggestion… Any thoughts of replacing the Roll & Trim indicators with A & B Hydraulic system gauges?? I make this suggestion because when coming off a target (especially when fired upon) I have Hydraulic gauges in my systems cross check. Putting them “up-front” would just make this cross check easier, plus there’s already a Pitch/Trim indicator on the combined console that I can reference and use to reset trim.
Just my 2-cents.
Cheers,

JollyFor such a change maybe worth to get yourself into using the profile Editor as with some basic knowledge you could adapt such a change within a few minutes

Was somewhat hoping someone would suggest this. The one major limitation is there is no hydraulic gauges among the included images and I’m not very proficient at creating them from scratch. :tsk: But thanks for the reply Oak’. :thumb:

Helios 1.6 has hydraulic gauges for the viper under F16 gauges in the controls editor. So it’s just a matter of putting them in place and assigning the Falcon bindings

So far so good. Disabling the mouse-in-cockpit seems to remedy the problem. I keep my fingers crossed. Tnx, Oakdesign

Thanks Wheelchock…I didn’t see them when I looked earlier, but your reply just says I need to look harder. :nerd:

I have a very customized key file and do not use touch screens but rather physical switches in my pit, including at the CPD.
Do I have to use Ice’s key file, which means a lot of reprogramming of hardware or can I use my custom key file by perhaps renaming in to “BMS - Ice’s Helios Profile”?
I do not use Alt Launcher.TIA

You could with Helios in the BMS interface you can reference a key file. You just need to ensure that all callbacks used by the Helios Profile are in your key file.
For functions such as the buttons on the CPD they are not handled by the keyfile as this are Helios internal touch functions. But you could assign DX Inputs on those Helios Touch buttonsGesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk

thank you sir.
