Update on 4.35 U2
-
Hi community,
this post is just so you know that we are aware of all the problems with 4.35. We have been working very hard to fix those; in fact, we almost released twice and last minute problems changed our plans.
Our dev team was heavily mobilized in the last weeks, and we made some solid progress. Some very old bugs were fixed (things from 2014, for example), some new ones introduced by the cool new features we all love were fixed as well. Even two of the fixes had to be fixed ( :ashamed: )…
Once we finish testing, if all goes well, we will prepare the U2 update.
I have no illusions that it will be perfect, but I bet it will be a lot more stable than U1.
Thanks all for the support, sorry for all the CTDs and keep flying!

Thanks for the update, Seifer. As an admin / dev / beta tester for various projects I know how hard it must be wanting to get the patch out there to the community and finding other stuff blocking the way where you least expected it
Thanks again for all the hard work you do!
All the best,
Uwe

Thank you very much Seifer.
I was about to post something today and refrained, because I thought that my question was orientating towards a specific answer and couldn’t get rid of the rhetorical aspect, but since you’re bringing the topic up, here is, not the question, but the hope.
We all want the sim to be even more realistic, to be more beautiful, to add more features, more depth to everything. This is what new versions and updates bring.
If, as I understand now, update 2 is really about fixing and stabilizing instead of fleshing out with the bet of new troubles, you’ll give us, me at least, a very big service. You may know that I actually stopped flying for weeks because I antiticipate that out of 6 people in the package, there will be at least 1 or 2 that will suffer problems that defeats the goal of being immersed in the simulation. 4.35 U1 is great, in a sense I’m waiting to enjoy it with U2. I also appreciate you’re taking your time to test stuff. It will never be perfect, but I suppose you can understand the frustration of waiting for 35 as we did (because BMS sparks a serious impatience and big expectations) and spawning on top of each others, wondering how 4.36 deving could start as if 4.35 MP was never entered in 3D. I’m exaggerating obviously, but you get the feeling I suppose.
Such is my hope, your post is good fresh air to me.

Hi Lorik
All Updates (U1, U2, etc) for all main versions (4.32, 4.33, etc) are mainly always focused only on bug fixes / cpu perf improvements / stability improvements

Yup, we added very few things in U2. All the rest were fixes.

Thank you Seifer,
Really superb to get some news and that progress is being made.

BBHey BB.
Not sure it will make me feel a lot better. I prefer checking 4.34 U1. That was awesome.

Every time a new release is done . It is said previous versions was better.
The problem is that people do not compare apples with apples
They compare the last Update of an iteration with the first update of a new one
4.35 is VERY special because it bring a 100% new Gfx engine and parralelised GPU and CPU
Most of your CTD (in occurrence) are coming from that
Some are coming from new features like AGM88 new features
Most of the remaining have been there for more than 10 years in many versions already
The good news is that last iteration of 4.35 will be light years more advanced and stable than last iteration of 4.34

If that’s about my last post, I’m not comparing them, it’s the changelog that I like a lot.
EDIT: stability is what it is, in other words from my point of view, it is what you say it is, I can’t judge about how stable the sim is. All I can talk about is user experience.

4.34 U1 changelog proves how much 4.34 needed to be fixed
TvT was the event that allowed tremendous progress for 4.34
That has been the same for 4.35

Exactly, and to build up from last post, that’s my point. I had a very good user experience of 4.34U1. It probably helps enjoying the changelog a lot. Heck, isn’t it when you could enjoy Navops as it should be? Not too sure.

I hope the community will also realise that communication wise this is also something new.Lorik, soon :). There is a bright future ahead :).
