I don’t recall seeing anything to suggest this in the changelog? I realise that a lot of work goes into each update, but perhaps a comprehensive changelog could be included? That might generate a bit more excitement.
One thing is definitively true we are absolutely shit in marketing
I will give you an example of our changelog
- « rework AHR seeker acquisition »
Changelog DCS style
-« New DCS Amraam
[2:11 AM]
The AIM-120 AMRAAM has received a separate INS (Inertial Navigation System) unit with datalink support. The INS will steer the missile to the predicted target intercept point using targeting data received from the weapon control system at launch. This will dramatically increase missile effectiveness against non-maneuvering targets when the missile has no guidance prior to its seeker taking over the intercept. The aircraft weapon control system will also send INS messages via data link that updates target position and velocity to account for target maneuvers. The missile seeker model has been completely revised. The radar dish now uses a realistic gyro stabilised gimbal that is controlled by the INS before target lock. An active missile seeker, like in the AIM-120, will have its detection and tracking lock range based on physical calculations of noise and target signal ratio (which in turn depends on target RCS or ECM power and range). Target search and tracking is based on doppler velocity filtering (introduced realistic velocity gate), and the radar will search for target near the target reference velocity provided by the INS.
The guidance law was also updated. Missile seekers have received Kalman filters that estimate target motion parameters. The new guidance law accounts for target normal to LOS accelerations, possible target G-load growth rate, compensated missile x-axis acceleration, and missile control system latency »
I agree that does not look the same , they can say Uber shutting things but it looks nice ROFLMAO
On the other side . If we document our changelogs like this , that would be a whole novel at each release

@mav-jp @JOKER_duke That would even be too kind, more than one player would even pump before, based on TGP info or risk assessment. You’ll get used to deal with them soon I suppose.
-
@mav-jp So, the ability of AIM-120 or R-77 itself is the same as before? Only the AI’s BVR tactics is enhanced ? Thanks for reply.
-
@lorikeolmin Yeah ! We found this on Falcon online BFK after U3 update. i think we will get used to deal with them. But This is just beyond my inherent understanding of the Su-27.
We usually think that Su-27’s mobility ,SA and ability to avoid missiles are not as powerful as others boast. If it’s set for F-16, no problem. -
Did a quick test.
I noticed that the MiG-25 began to behave differently, they use powerful engines and the advantage of high speed. Now it’s harder to shoot it down. Well, maybe it just seemed like that -
new head-position feature i feel deserves at least some mention. Personally, i think its great. Its a small part in allowing some customization of a players personal experience. Prior to update I used to lean back in the chair and zero my head tracking so in-game position is just a little bit forward when i sit normally (this just feels a bit more natural to me).
and id like to put forward the suggestion to have it save’able in the future. IL2 Great Battles for example, You can “save” your head position with F-10, in effect making it the new zero. Its effectively persistent, so its the same each time you jump in the pit (so you don’t have to set it each time).

@fritz glad you liked it. Saving it can bea good idea, I’ll take a look. Thanks!

I too am loving the new update and want to thank the bms team and everyone else involved for the massive effort that goes into this project.
I have not been as active for the past half a year or so, due to RL obligations, but now the big changes are over, i am ready to get back into bms.
There are also many other great things happening in general for flight sims and i try to get everyone of my fellow virtual pilots and friends who are at least interested to try bms. For some of them it sticks, for some it does not.
Overall i am very happy with the new comms, forum and everything and hope bms has a long and bright future. I’m pretty sure the next few major updates are going to blow everyone’s minds.

no change at all in this field
The only difference is that AI are actually pumping when they are spiked by a missile instead of jsut notching
this is for MP
in SP this was working like this already

@fritz Do you know if there are any instructions on how to use this head-position adjustment? I used my PDF-reader program to do a search for “head position” in all of the files in my 4.35 Docs folder, and it didn’t find anything.
-
@mylonite470 just use the mouse. Hold middle button and adjust it.
-
@seifer Thanks very much!

Big fan of the update. I think AI improvements and improvements to core simulation of basic technologies (missile guidance, radars) capitalize on the things that make BMS better than “that other sim.” That said (purely speculating,) I think some people are less likely to be excited because they’ve caught a sense that a big BMS update is about to drop, namely the terrain engine teases.
-
@van yeah, I see what you mean.
4.35 was an interesting product:
- U1 was mostly performance + some small fixes.
- U2 was mostly critical fixes (lots of them!)
- U3 was fixing the remaining issues we had + gameplay issues and the small graphical updates.
The cool thing about U3 was that we had at most a handful of critical fixes, that left time for us to tackle the gameplay issues. And also, work on some graphical improvements. It is not a huge change, but it is enough to cause me to want to fly it more than U2. And the gameplay issues made it finally feel like: now that is what I expected from a finished product.
Personally, U3 is the product that I flew more, so for me was like someone mentioned in the screenshots thread: my time to enjoy the product. Maybe that is why I was more excited than the community
-
@van It will take some time before new terrain engine kicks in…
Doesn’t change the fact that we have obviously some major stuff that we will share in between!
Cheers

Is there a alternate download without torrent?
-
I did not had the time to try U3 yet (but looking forward to), but it is nice to have a fresh look, I like the new colors. However, as the layout is a bit different, my neanderthal brain would need time to adjust itself. Hope the best for the dev team! Keep your spirit high, this is still the best sim community imo. I hope there will always be some 3-4 weeks for another update

Open the link below, and press the name of U3 link, should download as .zip file.

Cheers!

@afy the zip file is still a torrent file

@maxwaldorf Bummer…
