Unsolved Question about landing on Airport in the night - no light on from the base
-
server rendering 3d image (-norender off)
change the time with the MC, so that it was at night, 1900z
server squad in hiroshima, c17 squad with HQ control.
The server package was created 5 minutes before takeoff, so it leaves in a taxi.
the lights came on on the server
the boys from the wing spent all their time flying in osan and the lights are already on even during the day and at night.
wait 12 hours and create a package in osan where our wing squadron is and the daylights come on.
the lights keep on.
the BMS server is minimized so that it does not consume CPU even when rendering (-norender off)
bms application cpu usage 4% 1.5 gbram

@VIPER-0 if you try the same with rendering on?

@gundam Hi Viper All,
I think a found the reason of the lights off issues in the airport.
I did two test with my PC as dedicated server using the same campaign file of my squadron server in which we observed the airport light off issue.
First test: My PC as dedicated server in ramp with C-130 on Hiroshima airport. norender off! Client connected on Seoul simulating squadron activities. Night time . results : Airport light was ON!
Second Test: My PC as dedicated server in ramp with C.130 on Hiroshima but this time with norendering ON, so no 3d on the screen. Client connected on Seoul simulating squadron activities. Night time . results : Airport light was OFF!
Outcome: the problem in my opinion is related to the norender option on the dedicated server.
Viper and BMS team what do y think?

All the tests I’m doing are rendered, that is, i can see the 3D cockpit of the server plane.
I do. request of the máster @Mav-jp who requested it and also to reach a definitive conclusion.
when I write (-norender off) it means that I have commented this parameter in the user config so that the server renders a 3d image. -

Some time ago I came to the same conclusion that you came but that is not the problem.
because even rendering it stops turning on the lights. look up in one of the reports I did and you will see how rendering 3d image airplane server off with 20 min to take off and server by day, never turned on the lights, neither day nor night, neither in osan nor in Hiroshima.
After I put the server at night, 5 minutes before takeoff and the server plane with the engines running, the lights come on, so I did yesterday and until now it continues to work perfectly. and the track lights turn on even during the day.
I even thought it was the MC but it’s not the problem either because the server is working perfectly now and I modified the campaign, changed the time to put it at night and deleted the plane package from the server.
is what I can tell you. In my signature here in the forum is the address to our discord, you can enter and there you will have the IP of the server so you can check with your own eyes.regards GUN

Hi Viper, Thanks for your feedback.
So you mean if you have -norender options you have test for which the lights are on? In my case is quite scientific. The server never (during h24 campaign) turn on the light, and it has -norender option (because is a VM and doesn’t have the graphic card). On my PC i tried the two scenario with the same file. In one case i have lights in the other (with -norender option) not. So i was hoping i make goal but from your report it seems not…:(
Anyway in some cases this norender has to be in the “table” because i cannot explain my test outcomes instead. I will go on thinking on some other test i can make…anyway.
Ciao

I recommend you do the following test with -noreder (not rendering) put the campaign in a zulu night time, create the server plane package 5 minutes before the hour and minutes that the server has at that moment, with the objective that the server plane leaves in a taxi already started. enter to fly the black screen will come out not rendering. go to your client pc and create a package in the same Runway of the SERVER and check the status of the lights, always remember to call the tower asking for a taxi. Then do the test in another squadron at the other end of the Korean peninsula

Had the same issue during the TvT event at Falcon Online, there is no way around it. Don’t waste time, needs to be fixed at higher level.
-
@luke777 Hi Luke777. The point is: are these test executed by me and Viper useful for the developers or they already know the issue reason? If yes i am agree it could be a waste of time. If not maybe no

@gundam Viper, All
Anyway just to share that i put the server without norender and iconized it.
Connected with client and no airport light appears. As Viper report anticipate to me.
We are at the starting point i think

GUN did you put the server at night and the plane server 5 min before takeoff so that it enters with the engines on? did you do the test i told you above. always remember to call by radio requesting a taxi.
-
@VIPER-0 i did not call for the taxy…i need to do the test again.
Thanks Viper. I will try and post here the results.
Gundam
-
@gundam Yes, Please report the results here! I am wondering if it is that the server aircraft remains “dark” and never contacts ATC, thus there is no triggering lights-on.
-
@JollyFE Hi JollyFe, in my case i tried but it is very diffucult to ask for taxy because server doesn’t have a video card so without norender is all too slow…and in hang state. Anyway i see with my PC that if the server flight goes in taxy the airport lights goes on even without the call to taxy. So in my opinion is the same.
Very hard to understand which is the reason…i would like to know behind airport light on which is the code/module that trigger it so i coukd make specific test

@gundam can you put the server on a remote airport?
-
if you don’t have host with rendering don’t loose your time to test or report
First question that I asked for years
Do the host see the lights « on » when all client see « off »
You mission is to give that answer .

(Imgur is temporarily over capacity. Please try again later.)Since I did the last test 3 days ago, the lights stay on. Our wing has been in operation for days and the lights are stable.
the test conditions are in my text quoted above
when the server restarts then I will do the same procedure but with -norender enabled (not rendering) -
@MaxWaldorf Hi Max. Yes the Airport in myn use case is always in a remote airport. Hiroshima. While the squadron airport is Seoul.
-
@Mav-jp Hi Mav. Itis very difficult for me because i have no video card in the server.
But i will try anyway if it is important. I will let you know.

After several tests I can give a kind of final verdict.
perform the same test with the features described above but with (-noreder) without rendering 3d image.
negative result do not turn on the lights. Then I returned the server to the 3d rendering state (-norender) but this time starting the server in the daytime and they didn’t turn on either.
After different variants and tests, the following conditions always turned on the lights.
server rendering 3d image (-norender off)
change the time with the MC, so that it was at night, 1900z
server squad in hiroshima, c17 squad with HQ control.
The server package was created 5 minutes before takeoff, so it leaves in a taxi
An interesting fact is that if I meet the above conditions, even rendering the image (-norender off) and I set the server time after sunrise, the lights do not turn on, so it must always be set before sunrise, the time must be between sunset and the dawn
