@Radium can you send a screenshot of the f16 icp as ucp
-
-
@Radium - actually, that DCS mod looks TOTALY wrong…and the Viper’s ICP doesn’t really map to how an F/.A-18 UFC or UFCD actually functions because an F/A-18 does not have a DED.
…I’ll also note that the center display in the DCS cockpit (the MPCD) is too small - the DDIs are 5"x5", and the MPCD is 6"x6". They are all bigger than Viper displays, and just about everyone out there has been getting this wrong!
-
@Stevie you know what ? I leave this thread. I try to help this guy but it seems that you know everything better than me or want to explain how retarded I am. whatever I say.
Good luck with Blender and this project, sorry for his creator.

@okayasugf Keep on trucking!
I would not presume to tell you what is and isn’t possible, but I’ve been thinking about the 'pit, and working within the framework of BMS and Viper avionics.
Here’s my 0.02…
1)
I don’t think we can duplicate that the SH UFC is actually another mfd. I believe we need to stay at 2. So, looking at the UFC as on this image, what if you make the center column (T/R, etc.) the system on hotspots, the right column the hotspots that are on the 5 round buttons we have, and compress the keyboard a bit. If so, could that top left box be the “DED”?
2) I can’t think of what you’d want to do with the L/R MFDs
3) IFEI- What we have isn’t bad. However, if you get it to look like this and be functional, I will buy you lunch
4) As for the AMPCD (low center MFD) . If you get a moving map on it I will not only buy you lunch, I’ll buy you a bottle of your favorite adult beverage! -

If we somehow get the original maker for the IFEI then i might be able to cook something with the techies at OFM.

another update to the nozzles. -

not sure about that lol, unless we have some code for that already in falcon
-
@drtbkj - now THAT looks a lot more like it!!!
…BTW - you can also nix the RWR Azimuth Indicator - they put a blank plate there, and the Indicator is now a format on the DDI. One of the problems with doing a Super Hornet cockpit is that there have been a few iterations on the configuration of them - trying to point you at good references, as you have a real opportunity to get it right!
A REAL good reference for Super Hornet displays is the users manual from the old Janes Super Hornet sim…it’s dated compared to the modern jet, but it’s pretty accurate for its time.
…and +1 as you say about the MPCD!
-
@okayasugf - this one’s a great one!

ambient occlusion test -
Can the super hornet enthusiasts provide me with good cockpit and ejection seat reference pics. i cant seem to find reliable sources. all angles would be preferable for a good one-to-one.
-
@okayasugf - the Super hornet seat is the SJU-17/Mk. 14 NACES.
Good basic pics here:https://www.ejectionsite.com/sju17seat.htm
Also, some good shots of a very good replica:
https://www.neoengress.com/naces-ejection-seat
…and of course, THE reference - the Super Hornet NATOPS; look at the Foldouts for both the seat and the cockpit. Remember that dimensionally, the DDIs are 5"x5", and the MPCD is 6"x6":
https://info.publicintelligence.net/F18-EF-000.pdf
Unfortunately, I don’t have any pointers to dimensioned drawings for the seat…or the pit. You’ll have to scale.
-
@Stevie niceee reference book, this actually helps quite a lot, thanks a lot stevie
-
@okayasugf - the NATOPS is the Flight Manual for a Naval aircraft - equivalent to the USAF Dash 1. Gotta learn to speak both languages, that’s another thing I’m trying to encourage!

If pics like this would help, I could do some scans and provide decent images. The source was the first edition of this- https://www.reidairpublishing.com/books/the-modern-super-hornet-guide-2nd-edition
BTW, I recommend this book, as it has photos of every part of the jet -
@drtbkj thank you for the all these sources, really helps me optimize my workflow for the jet, instead of wasting time finding good references on google, you guys came in a clutch

Love the Hornet but will we see it’s own avionics?
