Quality of the terrain resolution @ airbases surpasses the rest. What is the size of the textures there? If size is not too large why not replace them all, as it looks much better. I guess the release time is not a factor in this theater anymore.

The drama of my in between sim existence.
Dave you do such a persistant job at producing upgrades etc…but what I really wish:
Some day a terrain like in other sims and also the respective FPS friendliness (BMS IMO is only for high end machines, everything else has to take hits in features or suffer FPS loss).
AND BMS F-16 FM, functionality and realism.The terrain engine in you know which sim is so much better yet Falcon BMS is so much more realistic in general.
For jets at least.
The day it allows for crispier terrain tex without this glossy effect and forest and the whole bunch is the day I declare sim heaven (Or hell, depending on view).Cheers Dave, BTW good idea with the airbase IMO.

No,release time is not a factor.I’ve seen many theater’s released after,2-7 year’s of work,that don’t even come close to what we have here.Hell,how long we been on this??? Six month’s or so???Already ALPHA user’s are releasing NO error’s Dogfight Video’s…HAHAHA!!!(without my permission BTW)Impatience will not get us there
Back to Topic…the WIP’ Tile’s are 4096 x 4096 @576 ppi\266Lpi for PShop(Yes,RAM,Square,just like us…LOL).For Falcon\DX they are reduced to 3780 x3780 @532ppi\133Lpi…a compromise for now at what she WILL draw.Transitioning to the Terrain only Tile’s,they are still 512x512 but @256ppi\133Lpi. We lose SOME definition,but it is a small amount.
Actually, here are some pic’s to mull over:
In this Pic we can see that the Airbase SEEM’s to rise above the ocean,as it doe’s in RL,and sit’s on top of the cliff’s.That is a lie to your eye.They are ALL(the Tile’s) at the same elevation……Hmmmm!!!
Transition from Sea to Land has been corrected as well as scaling the Texture to the F-16 MODEL!!!In this Pic we can see the evolving Tile work,as well as, almost NO difference between 500 feet or 5000 ft for the new tile’s.
Last,but not least,this Pic bother’s me a bit……NOT sure whether the Terrain BLUR is due to the 3D Object (i.e.,focusing on the F-16) #1 ,or the ParSys #2??? BTW Motion Blur is off in my .cfg, ummmm come to think of it,I deleted your BMS.cfg…:mrgreen: I prefer to see what the CODE duz’…LOL!!!

I hope DEVS read this, as THIS is a completly new dimension for Falcon in terms of fps-friendly-photorealistic high quality terrain building.
Fact is, you found an amazing way, so ANY terrain in future can be produced at that quality. In my opinion this is a break-through.
This needed “attention” so i just pushed it a bit with a video. -

For BMARTINS and others,this is why:
On tile #1 you can see a few dot’s of light that I have put on the Normal tile to use to generate the Night tile with Khronik’s tool.On tile #2 you can see what happen’s with his tool if thing’s get to Bright.Though there are way’s with his tool to manipulate this,I would rather give the tool what it need’s in the first place… On tile #3 you can see it is a bit brighter,but I don’t feel it represent’s the TOD there very well.I’ll defer to Jarhead and his RL pic’s for now.Hell,he is actually flying a RL “Bug” in that area ATM!

AndersonAFB and some surrounding tile’s, 90% complete……Hell,I even had them mow the grass for y’all…LOL!!!
Gett’n there faster than I thought……
BTW, in the last pic you can see me getting lost in the immersion.I was trying to land…LOL…but too busy looking OTW,I totally lost my gear cause’ I extended them at 300+ knot’s,as well as overshooting the threshold by ~1000 feet!!!..(look at my FPM,I am way above and beyond a good glide path)…HAHAHA!!!

Just a head’s up Gentlemen……
GUAM Theater will not be released to the community until this BUG is available to the community.
Reason being is that the Guam, HvH\PvP Campaign, depend’s on four carrier based F-18 Squadron’s.
As for the F-18 3D Cockpit, as it is now in BMS,those pilot’s who would choose to fly or do fly the BUG would be at a great disadvantage compared to the F-16 joc’s……Not Fair to Jarhead…LOL!!!Soooo…I’M WAITING…
