I think it is interesting to see a step by step making-of.
So, I will update this thread often to(why not?) awake some vocations for 3D.
Today, I worked on the deck, and, I started the hull but also elevator structures… It is always a bit complicated, so I make them early.
I also made Kashtan CIWS, as Kuznetsov has a lot…
I will finish hull tomorrow, I suppose, and I will connect it to the deck and structure… It is gonna be long with a lot of attention, but, it must be done to have a good result for later unwrapping… My target is to finish within next monday the 3D mesh… I think this is a realistic due date.

hmmm just wondering about the angle the edge of the carrier has…
the aircraft on takeoff must follow the height as it rolls and not sink in the 3d model.Now if this works (will work) on carriers, could be a nice feature and add the ability to airbases (taxiway runway) to have bumps different elevation and angles on various areas without having the detail of the terrain underneath.
Yes I now a coding nightmare…
Edit: Unless this model is just for view - target and AI and not for actual use by human pilots.

What is the planned polycout? Tom Catzs has mad a very nice ship model. Of course the qestion is what new features will be in 4.xx and how can use new models. I think here about the linked weapon/launch position, or modeling the ski jump etc.

Tom Catz models worth nothing in Falcon, they aren’t optimized for this sim.

I firstly simply intend to make a good Kuznetsov model, because it is seriously needed in BMS.

I stricly intend not to exceed 30K. If I am cleared by the staff for more, I can consider more.

My WIPs for today…
I mostly worked to enhance hull, correct some parts of the structure, add details, rework geometry, reduce triangles etc…
I also worked on elevators, added lifeboat containers… It looks better and better!

here is my WIP for today.
A lot of work were done on elevators, maybe a bit too much? But I wanted them to be beautiful. I also made russian IFOLS, I reworked geometry a little bit, so improve triangulation and general shape.

Today’s update!
I suppose, tomorrow, the main superstructure will be done, I still have some details to add. I finished all starboard, elevators, CIWS everything… Now, I have some stuff to add on board, like CIWS, missile launchers etc… Not so much work though. Maybe, I will do this night, so, tomorrow, all the main superstructure will be done. Please note that there is no texture now, I simply used consistent colors.
Also, some people like to see the mesh… So, here you go!
