What rudder pedals should I buy?
-
I was thinking about buying a rudder pedals…
I looked the saitek (both pro rudder and combat) and the ch product.
Do you have any suggestions? Any advice?
Before you say it, the new crosswind are out of budget.Thank you in advance

I have CH and Saitek Combat ones and far and away prefer the Saiteks…for the (variable) geometry and the fact that you can adjust the tension in them. The CH ones are way too “fast”, IMO…it’s far too easy to load them and carry rudder without realizing it. With the Saiteks you get more tactile feedback. Plus I’ve managed to wear out one of the toe axes on my CH pedal set…go for the Saitek Combat pedals - you won’t regret it.

I have the CH product and they are very high quality imo.

I’m sure the CH pedals are fine, but the deciding factor for my money (oops, my wife’s money…b-day gift) was that the CH pedals looked too close together and the Saitek Combat pedals were spaced further apart. The boyz gotta breathe too!
Stevie has some good points also.

Your point about the Saiteks being farther apart is a good one too - if you are building a pit (or ever plan to) you’ll find you likely won’t be able to get your knees around the center pedestal and onto the CH rudders. The Saiteks work for that, and feel more like an “airplane” in geometry, IMO - having used both.
…and having a pilot’s license.

I have these and love them:

Lack of toe brakes will not be problem for long. VKB is releasing software that will allow you to press a key on your joystick / keyboard to switch the pedals operation from rudder control to brakes:

Having owned at one point or another CH Products pedals, both Thrustmaster pedals offerings (RCS and Elite), G940s, and the Saiteks I can say these are by far the best. But that’s my opinion.
FYI - I’d love to have rudder pedals that are wider, but my Obutto Ozone won’t allow it.

SLAW is the ultimate pedals by far. And he is preparing a new version for the F-16 the next couple of months.

True.
In case you have a Viperpits.org account, I made a pretty extensive review of the Slaw Device rudders (and comparison with my Simped rudders also). First 4 posts (#1: introduction & comparison pics, #2 on Simped+Rusba, #3 Slaw Device, #4 comparison/conclusion).
He doesn’t make that version anymore, but you get the idea of the quality, and as raptor says, he’s working on a new version that looks almost like the real deal. -
But keep pricing in mind

Yeap, you are responsible for my wife attitude when I’ve opened the box from Poland…
But keep pricing in mind
Well, it IS a full-time hobby as I see it, so like every hobby you need to invest some money right? Anyway my wife wasn’t that much pissed since I sold 2 different older pedals (CH Pro and SimPed F-16 Rudder Pedals) I had in my roster in order to pay Slaw. And after 10 sec’s opening the box, I am happy for this investment.
