SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS support thread

I think I’m going to buy one! Basically all the enthusiasm here has (almost) won me over…
And $150 is only pocket money right?

Hi Andre,
Because of this new configurable start points, I am pretty sure the shift option is not needed anymore.
On the other side, to start feeling negative G’s starting from +0,9 and < we still would need the shift. Perhaps make the -G start point configurable to be able to start from -3 to +0.9
Cheers Obi
If I don’t shift G, the effect will work incorrect (inverted) between 0 and +0.9G.
Does anyone here want to start feeling negative G’s starting from +0,9?

Sorry Andre,
Thought about it some more and actually think -3…0 for -G would already be good enough.
No need to make it more complex, your solution would probably be good enough already.Cheers Obi

I just think if we keep up both ‘shift’ and ‘dead zone’ options, it would be hard to understand for ordinary user what the mess is here

Nope. In my case, I want zero feedback between -0.1 and 2, probably 2.5G

Andre,
Order is placed.
Thanks for the wonderful work that adds to this simulator.
Cheers,

Andre,
While you are still working on it, would it be possible to also add an option to the G-Force setting to be able to switch left and right? For example when right side of plane is up, now I feel G-Force on my left side.
I think for me personally it will be better in this case to feel the G-Force on my right side as if it is pushing me down.Hope you understand and that it could be possible to add?
Cheers Obi

Hey Matt, it seems you were going to do that at your end!
Did you like it? -

Andre is simulating roll angle with theG effect, you are asking for a lateral G effect, I too would like the option for that if/when you get to it Andre. Not a show stopper at all, but would be nice.

LOL, replying at the same time, I’ll try it tonigbt, coming home from a short vacation.
Obi1, Andre thought there maybe a way to reverse the input using the editor, I just forgot!!! -

Actually, one can customize .uwv samples, using UWV editor, and invert sides,
right now, if you likeSo Obi1, go to UWEditor, tell it you would like to use your own files and it will actually create a set based off of the defaults. Then find the roll effects for Gs and invert each of them.

Guys, at which G values we would like to have 100% vibration strength?
For instance:
-4G; +9G ?
-3G; +7G ?
-2.5G; +6G ?Currently we have 100% at -4G and +6,7G
-
-3G; +9G = 100% (IIRC it is hard to go more than -3 in F-16 due to limiters)
-2G; +7G 75%
-1G; +5G 50%
0G; +3G 25% -
-3G; +9G = 100% (IIRC it is hard to go more than -3 in F-16 due to limiters)
-2G; +7G 75%
-1G; +5G 50%
0G; +3G 25%0,25,50,75% will depend on Dead Zone values set.
Dead Zone value = 0%

So Obi1, go to UWEditor, tell it you would like to use your own files and it will actually create a set based off of the defaults. Then find the roll effects for Gs and invert each of them.
Alright Obi, I’m home now and had some time to play with it. You would go into UWVEditor and edit the following files:
so_99_3_1L.uwv
so_99_3_1R.uwv
so_99_3_2L.uwv
so_99_3_2R.uwvChange the “L” files to have the right side motors on and vise versa “R” files. That will get the G feeling to the other side. However, specifically for lateral Gs simulation you probably want to change the duration of the effect. I think what we would want is a short duration effect on the other side of the direction of roll and then a normal G effect the rest of the time either to the side with roll effects or all the bottom/top of the seat if you prefer. But I’m afraid to tweak it too much here and get rid of the Gs right now. Maybe with that description if I didn’t slaughter it for Andre he can give us more guidance because I still haven’t played around with UWVEditor as much as I wanted to (seems like ever since I got my KW-908 things have been busy!). One other tip though, make sure you have at least one motor selected before you edit strength or duration.
Andre,
Do you have a guide of what .uwv file name corresponds with which effect? That would help me here and a few other small customization I want to make. I somewhat get the file naming structure but want to be sure, especially when it seems like on option has more than one effect.
