SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS support thread

Thanks Andre!

Hello Andre,
I’m trying to play a bit with the uwv file editor and I’m beginning to understand it
So apparently the different effects are associated with uwv files. In some cases, an effect is associated with one uwv file, but some effects are associated with several uwv files. How can I play with file association so that I can choose which uwv file(s) goes with which effect.
Besides, I’m trying to do that for BMS. Can you please tell me which uwv file goes with which effect?
Thanks a lot for your helpJudy

Hello Judy,
please refer to the general list in the file attached.
To learn which particular file is called please activate and see Log To Screen at Service Tab, file name goes at the first place after “Sent:” -
OK, Andre. Thanks a lot. I’m going to start playing with it. From what you explained, can I deduct that there’s a config file somewhere that I could use to load my own files? Or do I have to modify the default files and must they keep their names?

Hi Judy,
yes, that’s right.
Please read also this article https://dreamsimteam.blogspot.ru/2015/09/how-to-customize-uwv-files-for-gametrix.html -
Hi guys,
I’ve just published SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS version 1.1.1.50. It features a draft tactile FX for air refueling boom connect/disconnect.
I’m not too much skilled virpil for AAR, please test that out for me.
To set up gain currently you can use the same slider as for Payload Release/Missile Launch FX (#11). -
Whoohoo!! I love doing AARs so I will gladly test… unfortunately, the PC is currently in the living room on VR demo duties…
-
Tested, works both on connect and disconnect!

So are we supposed to preferably use this software or rather SSA (which I thought was the successor of SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS)?Judy
-
Actually I do not develop and do not support SSA, which is mostly the initiative and the project of my German partner in programming, Olaf.
I can offer you a support of the product that was developed with my great participation and that I know very well, SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS, as you may understand.
But the choice is currently up to you. -
OK, I think I’ve found something weird here.
Please bear with me as I’ll try to explain what I see.
This happens with SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS and SSA.
There seems to be a problem with the Afterburner effect. Normally, it should start when passing through the AB detent and it should stop when pulling back from this detent.
In fact, it is exactly like that IF no Janhas model is installed.
I have three theaters in my BMS install:- regular KTO,
- Israel with Janhas model and skins
- Balkans with Janhas and skins
With the Israel and Ballans theaters (so with Janhas models installed), the AB effect starts as soon as the NOZ POS value gets to 40.
In the regular KTO, contrary to other theaters with the Janhas models installed, the NOZ POS value doesn’t change unless the AB detent is reached.
With the Janhas models installed, the NOZ POS value changes practically as soon as you touch the throttle.
I’ve checked the relevant files (F16blk52.dat) in each theaters and the NOZ POS values are different.
So my question is: isn’t there a way to activate the AB effect based on other values and is it possible to use the Janhas models and skins with the original .dat files without any problem, provided the differences in .dat files are the cause for this funny behavior, of course.
What do you guys think ?

Good catch. I experience the same lately and it hadn’t occured to me it was because of the janhas install I did recently. In an MLU (rpm gauge to 100 and not 110%) I feel the vibrations of AB when around 90% whereas ab should be 96
-
Currently AB FX is triggered by 2 conditions: nozzlePos >= 0.1 AND fuelFlow > 8000.0.
Intensity of the vibration is proportional to the nozzlePos value.
We can change the algorithm as you like guys, just be realistic. -
good catch indeed
here’s what the dash1 says about nozzle operation:
PW129:
Regardless of temperature, NOZ POS indicator
indication should not exceed 20 percent at MIL.GE129:
Regardless of temperature, stabilized NOZ POS
indicator indications should not exceed 15 percent
open in MIL.AB is nozzle 100% opened
so Andre, maybe making that condition 15-20% rather than 0.1 would fix the issue?
with the above condition, if the problem still happens, it’s a bug in Janhas implementation of the nozzle position gauge -
Do you mean I should set the condition nozzlePos >= 0.2
or nozzlePos >= 0.1+20% i.e nozzlePos >= 0.12
? -
i haven’t looked at the shared mem value for the NOZ POS. If they range from 0.0 to 1.0, then i’d say 0.2 would do.
Basically 20% of the full range
it would obviosuly need testing. -
Just to add, I have seen the same issue with flying other planes than F-16,
so it is not only caused with Jan Has f-16. More a general issue with when not flying standard F-16.Cheers Obi1

Well, let’s try to trigger AB with nozzlePos >= 0.2 AND fuelFlow > 8000.0.
SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS version 1.1.1.51 is published, please give it a try. -

This has occurred before.

Hm, are you sure?
