      Hi all.
I am very happy to be back in the Falcon world and I am just at the very beginning but I have a question : I managed to change my FOV (because I am using TheadToGo with 3840X1024) in the flacon bms.cfg file, that is all OK.
Now, my view looks at the HUD and I have to tilt my head down (I am using Tir 5) to look at the radars and stuff. Is there a way to alter the default vertical viewing angle to some downward degrees?

I have looked everywhere and couldnt find this info.

      thanks

      JEFX

Has been asked many times before (should be able to find a few topics using the Search-function) and no, you can’t.

If I remember correctly, which I’m not entirely certain I am, BMS team does not currently believe this is a high-priority item because what we see in-game is also what a real pilot would see in-pit, so we shouldn’t hold our breath for a change in this regard.

Best way to do what you want is go in-pit, look up slightly and recenter TIR, then lower your head to normal position. Check and repeat until you got it the way you want it.

          First, JEFX, welcome to BMS!
You can recenter, as Eagle_Eye said, with F12. I’ve also found that , if after doing so it’s not quite right, merely pull your headphone band forward a bit. That rotates the IR sensor a bit, and that works well for me.

Just look up slightly and recentre TrackIR. This will make your default view slightly downward facing. I do it every time I get in the pit.

guys : thanks a lot for the quick answers!!!
This is such a treat community!
I will do as you say, it makes totally sense.
I am really coming back gradually here because I was part of the 1998 Falcon adventure for a few years and got into LOMAC-etc-DCS for many years (still do because it is so beautiful) and did also a lot of X-plane with deep AC, but I always lacked the sense of immersion that F4 used to give me and I am now seeing 4.33 with a great anticipation. I have a lot to learn/re-learn, but count on me!!

I also experienced this issue when first starting to use trackir. I also recently looking up a bit like the others said, but I also changed my trackir profile so the pitch dead zone is moved down (to the left on the graph) a biso it matches my pit position.

I really wish the trackir centered view default would be selectable and include the standard 3D pit setting (“3”) as an option. Need to see those mfds and I like pausing trackir sometimes and it’s nice when those line up.

Actually I think the default BMS pilot view sits too low in the pit compared to r/l. I would be nice to have an option to make the pilot view sit higher up (without having to mess around with Track IR)

Probably true. But he can still easily see his MFDs without effort. Really I just need separate screen for MFDs or some awesome VR headset or something haha
