MIG-29OVT AFM Mod
-
After all these times playing with flight models I decided to release one of my experimental afm aircraft. This mod will replace the stock Mig-29S FM files, adding a fake TVC feature to the aircraft. Which means you can pull Cobra, Kulbit or even double kulbit just as what a MIG-29OVT can do.
The CL/CD/Thrust Curves are basically untouched, keeping them as original as possible. I added additional AOA breakpoints for -180 to -30 and +40 to +180 degrees, in order to represent the lift/drag characteristics in high alphas. Aero data for those AOA breakpoints are taken from this thread (https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?12031-Advanced-Flight-Model-for-other-aircrafts!). Thanks to MaverickF22.
Tips:
1. Always toggle MPO on when flying the aircraft. If not, it will take a long time for you to recover from high AOAs. (Pitch rate gain issue?) I’m not able to fix it because FLCS is hardcoded and only few values are editable even with NASA FLCS.
2. Switching to CAT III will give you an AOA protection of around 26 degs while not reducing roll rate.
Enjoy and have fun!
* Installation * The zip-file contains two files: mig29s.dat and mig29s_afm.dat. Before installation, backup your files under \Data\Sim\Acdata. Note that 433 checks for FM files integrity when connecting to some servers. You'd better always keep a backup copy of the Sim folder. After backup, move and replace mig29s.dat and mig29s_afm.dat to \Data\Sim\Acdata. * Uninstall * Copy your backup files to \Data\Sim\Acdata and overwrite.

Thank’s for sharing your work, LJQCN101.
I might think about to DL your afm(s) but …

LSThanks for the heads-up.

Thanks! Actually a mod I am very interested in as Mig-29 /21 fan.

Hello,
Nice work but, wonder how useful it could be while Mig-29OVT is just a prototype system…

Nice work.
Thanks for sharing (not only this one).
Keep it up!

For solo demonstration and making videos I think?
Or you can switch to CAT III then the flight performance should be identical to the stock MIG-29. I’m just thinking that in 433, both external and cockpit models of MIG-29 are so good that having an AFM would be a nice addition to the aircraft. Thrust Vectoring is just a bonus.

Do we have a demo skin in BMS?

Yes, “SimonTek” made this skin beside other MiG-29 skins,
… back in OF days.Sadly I’ve not seen him around since then, but I’m almost sure he would be very happy
to see his skin(s) in 4.33.Cheers,

this is not thrust vectoring.

this is not thrust vectoring.
Yeah I know. This is a fake with Cm and other coefficient tweaking.
That kind of highly integrated Thrust Vectoring is not possible without FLCS code compliance.

if it works…its good fun
sorry i do not want derail this thread, but do you know something about Peregrine (was development moved to FalconOnline or what?)…thread seems to be dead
