is there anyway to know the TOS of the tanker when it is in the holding pattern?
does it fly the speed you assign it or it has a mind of its own? how long does it take to complete an 180 turn? -
Hello,
In my knowledge, tanker turns 30degs of bank with CAS of 300 kts and alt of ~20k’.
Considering room temp of 15 degsC and standard pressure of 29.92 inHg, the turn rate is ~1.5 deg/sec so 180 turn takes ~120 sec. Thanks,

If you do not create the flight by yourself and can’t plan a Golf (En route) rejoin, best is the “Face to Face” rejoin procedure.
You may also take a look the AIR-TO-AIR REFUELLING - ATP-56(B) (AJP 3.3.4.2).pdf located into your Docs folder.
EDIT:
May try also this:
Look into the F-16 COMBAT AIRCRAFT FUNDAMENTALS - Multi-Command Handbook 11-F16 Vol5.pdf from your Docs folder.
Both works quite well in game.

i do have in mind the manuals.thats why i want to know the timing the tanker will be over each of the stpts in the holding pattern so as to know when i have to be at any stpt of the holding pattern
Mack i dont think the tanker does the holding at 300CAS. it accelerates to 300 CAS when u tell it ’ ready for refuelling’ -

The only times you can affect at the on-station start and end time. You could try some calculation given the track length but now the anchor point holding pattern code is in there this is more complicated because of course the position of the tanker in time relative to the on-station start will vary depending on how much time is spent holding versus traversing the full track while offloading fuel. Holding speed versus refueling speed (which varies by receiver a/c type of course) probably complicate that further. What I coded for the AI was just to run a baseline intercept on the tanker to arrive a mile or so in trail. You could try doing that.
I did look at more faithfully replicating the procedures for rendezvous with tankers from the real world docs…not impossible but more work than I had time for when this was code in motion.

Correct.
