Well, then it’s not much of a solution, isn’t it? Other planes don’t seem to have it, so there has to be a way of getting rid of it for good.
-
Well it works and it can’t possible be rated as a hard thing to do. I’m sure that JanHas have tried his best to find a way around this.
-
When I unzip the ALW 4.0, I get two errors “unexpected end of data” and a “data error” with 3912.dds. I have tried re-downloading twice. Anyone else getting this?

@NIL:

It’s not hard, but tedious and somewhat immersion-breaking. Other aircraft don’t have it, so I find it hard to believe it’s not fixable.
Also, CTRL+tilde (I have a normal keyboard) didn’t work. What is the key combination on a US English keyboard?

It’s the key left of the number 1 key on my keyboard, so if that does not work I can’t tell you. You might use another profile for your keyboard than I do…

CTRL + 3 or CTRL + 4 might work. Its toggle flap and engine display

EDIT: All right, LCTRL+tilde worked now… but it removes all on-screen messages. That’s not what I want. I want to specifically get rid of exhaust angle message, while keeping radio subtitles and other messages.
I can deal with modifying some things in configuration files, but not the models themselves (since they are “tamper-protected”, I doubt I could make the fix myself even if I knew how to edit them).

Go to C:\Falcon BMS 4.34\Data\Sim\Acdata\
Find the Flight Model you want to fix this and open with notepad
Find this part:
#–---------------------------------------------------
NVGs - use VTOL commands
#-----------------------------------------------------
IsVtol 1
AFMVtolmaxExhaustangle 120
AFMVtolExhaustrate 2000.0Then change “IsVtol 1” to “IsVtol 0”
Save and test.

Well, this looks like it should have worked, but I just get a CTD upon trying to enter 3D. Should I post the crash dump, or will the log do?

What else have you changed to result in the ctd?
I just did a test with IsVtol 1 and IsVtol 0 with no problems, when in 0 the message was removed (so the ability to change jhmcs helmet to nvg helmet).
-
Nothing. I opened the file in notepad, changed the 1 to 0, and saved the result.
I tested it using training TEs (specifically, the guns one and AAR one). Installed packs are block 50, 40 and 52, all pylons and ALW.
EDIT: Changing it back didn’t stop the crash. I guess I mucked something up during install. Wish I knew what. I’ll try installing the whole LV4 pack and report back, should be less room for misc. user error there.

Nice

I installed the big LV4 compilation pack and not only the crashes stopped, it seems like it has this very change done by default. So I guess I’m set now, at the cost of being a bit short on HD space (time to clean up, I guess…).
Thanks anyway. I would have been the solution I was looking for, had I not screwed up my install somewhere.

I’m an addicted fan of JanHan work. Using only JH Blk40, but agree with Malc. Can’t appropriately manage the frame rate it’s a nonsense.
i gotta agree with you, but curiously this frame rate problem started with LV4 vipers, the LV3 works like charm for me, idk why though

Well fps depends on many factors and not just a model update. I had some 30 birds in the line with no impact, in my system.
BTW, I have prepared a Korea theater version with ALL the published Jan models in an updated DB, plus some extra work here and there on the DB, captive weapons etc. This is the test-bend for any new models development and fine-tune, it is my intention to release it next couple of weeks, depending my free time for some polishing…

And your system specs are?

Will/can the CATM-9M in grey with blue (like the CATM-120s) get added to the ALW pack eventually?
-
AFAIK current pack includes some half of the planned/needed weapons, so still WIP for a future pack-2; release.

Thank you very much JanHas for all your models! They look really great!
