are there some limitations regarding asymmetric loads ( Air to Ground ) ?
in my point of view, the weight is very important but maybe not only …
for example, I have never seen the mix configuration including GBU39-SDB …there is surely a reason … but I haven’t found it

I saw pictures where Dutch F16 ‘somewhere’ in the Middle East with mix loadout: my guess is that it is for tactical reassons, or, in dutch case, “what have we on stock”.

GBU39 SDB is a pretty specialized weapon, so it’s rarely mixed in. not because you can’t (at least, that i know of) but just because if you want to standoff against a SAM site most other weapons are pretty useless (save HARMs, maybe) and if you don’t want to standoff, then the SDB is pretty useless (because it’s very hard to launch close or against moving targets)

AFAIK as long as you can trim the craft a little and are under gross weight you should be fine, no matter what weapons you load.

Yup, and its all in the manual. Check -1, -1-2, for flight limitations. Check AFI 11-2F-16V3 for regulation on stores loadings.

Broadly speaking tho, so long as you can trim it for takeoff, its permissible.

I think the f-16 displayed on the loading screen when entering 3d has an asymmetric loadout (can’t check right now as I’m not at my gaming machine)

On a related note - is there any “smartness” in the real jet where if an assymetric loadout exists due to, for example, a slammer being fired from Pylon 1, the FCS will automatically default to pilot 7 for the first HARM to be shot off? In the heat of battle, I have ended up with nothing on the left wing and a full load on the right. I know it’s easy to say preselect stations, but when the sticky stuff starts flying, the last thing I want to be doing is messing around preselecting stations.

Dont think so. Someone a little closer to the source might be better on speaking up on this one.

                    it does, AGM-65G and 2x GBU-38

AFAIK they do this all the time in real life; i’ve seen pictures of falcons out of bagram(?) that not only do asymmetrical loadouts but also load different weapons on each flight member, for versatility i suppose.

Its one hell of a figure. Id link a screenshot, if I could figure out how to fit it all on the screen at once.

Incorrect, only earlier models had issues close in. Static targets only that’s true but it’s fine as a close in weapon which is also why it definitely is mixed in these days:

Good luck on that one. Ive not seen that exact version of it. In fact, Ive only come across one -1-2 at all.

No, that was the first set of manuals I ever came across that were not included with a Falcon install. They do not include the -1-2 although they do include the -1-1 and the -1CL-2 which can make it confusing!
