Nope, don’t think anyone is working on a new model.
…that’s what I was afraid of…couldn’t care less about license plates.

Me either, only the one on my car. I don’t fly around checking the scenery out much, let alone fly around and Ewww and Ahhh and go, WOW, check out that cool 549 on that planes tail!!!

I don’t like being the flight lead of a 4 ship and looking at the three dudes on my wing and seeing three of the same jet. If you don’t mind it, then good on ya. To each their own.
Cheers!

The external skins should have mipmaps.

I had a strange result after having placed DDS’s in the correct folder : A fully black hornet in UI and 3D world (the aircraft number is still visible)…Any idea of what has been my mistake ?

Hello friends.
I want to make a statement about the license plate. Default BMS license plates are made using alpha channel in texture files. However, since the alpha channel regions are connected to the 3D model, their location and size can not be changed with repaint.
In the default F-18 model, the sizes and locations of the alpha channel zone were not really appropriate for me. (Can be seen in the image below).
For this reason I had 2 options:
1- License plate in its actual size and position, but it will be the same license number on all aircrafts.
2. Different license plates on all aircrafts, but license plate will not be in actual size and position.
I had to make a decision here. I chose option 1.
Best regards.

Excellent job! Thanks a lot.

do the textures give a fps hit? can,t afford to drop many more. many thanks for a great cockpit and model textures. please submit your work to bms devs so they can have the option to insert in future updates.

Thank you so much.
If the BMS team asks me, I can gladly share it with them. They can use it like they want. What’s important is that Falcon is a beautiful simulator. We owe this beautiful simulator to the BMS team.:D

Thanks for the explanation!

Hi,
Great work. Feels so realistic to fly next to a Hornet now in close formation. Awesome.
I know very little of the F-18, so I might be mistaken here, but I noticed 3 odd things about the skin. Maybe it’s correct, maybe it isn’t. Or maybe it’s wrong in BMS and has nothing to do with your skins, so I apologize beforehand
1. Top left I can see through the jet
2. I have either no canopy or the crew chief did one hell of a job to make it so clean and non reflecting
3. I thought those side panels closed or toughed the fuselage on the bottom part, but now I see a gap.
4. (no screenshot), the centerline fuel tank, the rear part floats in the air, I assume it should be touching the bottom part of the fuselage where it’s attached? -
Awesome work

I have no idea about transparent canopy. My canopy looks like the picture below.
I tried to show the body and engine connection detail images below.
There is no problem in joining the centerline fuel tank with the body. I think you mean the little piece seen in the image below.
Best regards.

Thx for the reply.
Canopy, no idea what I’m doing wrong.
Nr 2 & 3 ok, as I thought I don’t know much about the Hornet
Nr 4. Yes that’s what I mean. Is that back part supposed to be attached to the fuselage or not? -
