MailMans' Pit Progress Report

Lol, I would if I lived closer. This next few months for me is going to be slow in doing anything with my pit……gonna be working a lot more.

Hey you are just around the bend. You can cut off some mileage if you take a boat

Rather than repeating posts on three different forums, I will for now on put a link to my thread at Viperpits with a note about an update. Just click the link and voila, you are there. You may have to register, but it is free.

Mailman, it looks like a few people will be working on their pits this weekend. I’m working on my aircore engine gauges and the
mount for them. Your pit is looking good so far. I’m a member of Viperpits as well and have been following your work
over there. -

over there.Yeah,I spend a lot of time reading everyone else threads. I get a little jealous because I can’t make a full tub. I do not have the room for it, so mine will be left and right side panels and a slimmed down version of a center console. I will probably be working on the center console in a couple of weeks. Good luck with the engine instruments. I have to do that too

A few updates to pit progress here:
-
Looks good, I like the LED strips.
-
Got to love LED strips . No resisters to wire , nice and bright and dirt cheap.
They should last forever. -
Impressive work MailMan. Maybe one day when I retire from working on cars, I’ll have the time to devote to such an enormous task. If your married, I hope your wife still loves you!;-)
On a more serious note, I’m sure the hard work and long hours your putting in will make the pit even more enjoyable than simply purchasing one. I think what your doing, (and any one else that has done something like this on their own) is awesome.
I have a good friend (engineer) who refurbishes pinball machines as a hobby. Think I’m going to have to try to find a way to get him hooked on Falcon!
-
I wish had had the space in my den and the time to make a full tub. But unfortunately, I am limited to building the left and right boxes and a center console, yet to be determined exactly how I am going to do it. I know there is no way I could sit in an Aces II type seat very long because of my back and leg being too screwed up. So I went with a bucket seat. I call it my Aces III As far as the wife is concerned, she doesn’t care less one way or the other if I spend time on this. She thinks it is great that I have something to do besides sit around and become disabled. We value our time together, and just as much, our time doing our own thing. But if she wants to do something, I get on my knees and say “Yes’m boss!”. I may have to find a couple other projects to do after retirement

Oh I forgot to put that pic up Well, it isn’t perfection, but it’s about the best I can do with the room I have to work with, and the boss monitoring the money output. But, I have snuck a few things in there that she just has not noticed. I’m a Mailman, I am used to being sneaky Good to see you Drillin!
