Runway Textures
-
Speak on me and lay your hand on this Taxisign:
I greatfully provide my love for this Simulator.
You are done
-
Not finished yet guys… Mostly I was aligning the tiremarks as they are devided along 4 textures.
But for your info each tire mark is drawn by hand… so after all those guidelines:
my hand must entered auto alignment symmetrical mode…
The ones that are symmetrical are the taxiway entrance curved ones. Yeap guilty… those r easy to alter… the ones on the middle of the runway need lot’s of work as they r heavy.

Very good work Arty!
-
Excellent work. If I may make a small suggestion…. From my experience the tyre marks need only extend for say a couple of hundred metres from the touchdown area. The TD area was usually plastered with rubber that was scrubbed clean (ish) periodically! The majority of runways I worked with were pretty clean! (Apart from the odd set of grooves/ skids from tyre bursts!)
-
And - thanks to Phait for throwing this out there, and inspiring Arty to show us his mad-skills with Corel…!
:headb:

Found this as a good example of tyre marks…… as well as a bloody good Viper video!!!
Watch the landing and you will see what I mean about the rubber fade out after a couple of hundred metres. -
well UKRaider lets hope that coffee will do the miracle trick… hehehe else linear custom gradient transparency will definatelly work.
edit I forgot mesh transparency… imagine like a matrix of dots that covers the object - drawing and u alter its transparency settings… this will definatelly spice up things… -
(Related to the video) First impression…“Is this RL?”
Please take the time it needs.

"lol: When coffee get’s in to Falcon… https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?17716-You-know-you-re-into-Falcon-when&p=266844&viewfull=1#post266844

The markings had a black “frame” too? -
-
-
oh yes… there are and center yellow taxilines with black borders… It’s a real mess every one is doing whatever he wants - likes…

Whatever you’ll do, I will fly

Everything is standarized in the modern World, even Banannas or Tomatos. But Runway-Marks? - Who cares, they arent needed

Thanks UKRaider I was looking for those. I had only mads and some others…
The bad thing is that in many cases I can’t use those detailed dimensions as they have to apply on the 3d model. Well I could but this would mean Countless re open and measures maybe from LE with the ruller??? the thing is that the same area in the texture is used for different size areas in the 3d object so the texture is stretched.
The new Font I’m using is exact the same as the document. The rest are mostly aligned based on the stock textures and with respect to symmetry to where it can or should be applied. Example the runway yellow lines on the sides of the runway those weren’t symmetrical, now they are. The difference in stock is minimal and maybe unnoticeable by the eye when flying, u have to photo them (or use the texture) and use a ruler in PS to spot the difference.
Another example is the taxiway curved yellow lines that enter the runway. Those where connected in the taxiway and not in the entrance point as they should according to etl_04_2.pdf page 20 Figure 9 and way before the Hold Short Marking. Mine are closer to real, but I have to re do them and join them farther more towards the runway. Thankfully I have their Center line ready…@Lazy when u talked about the ruler in LE u where talking about the Rng that shows a ruler with feet from 0 to 1000? OT I don’t think that this helps for 3d object dimensions as u don’t have the exact size. What I think on it is take a screenshot and move the ruler on the object sides to find it’s size… Yeap doing it from scratch and finding real world data is faster I believe unless I didn’t yet found the ruler in LE.
Well this doesn’t help in this case as it shows only the area without the texture.

Glad to help in a small way! Loving your work Arty.
Same as I am loving everyones work in Falcon BMS!!! What a great community. -
@Lazy when u talked about the ruler in LE u where talking about the Rng that shows a ruler with feet from 0 to 1000?
I was talking about the measure function in LE.
LODEditorManual.doc, … search for “measure”.
BTW. Great job so far.
Honestly, when you’ve started I thought, … Uhmm just another runway textures mod,
like we had so many in the past 15 years. BUT your’s seems to be differently.Cheers,

Ok now I get it… It doesn’t suit me well… It’s accuracy ain’t what I expected mostly cause of program UI resolution and quickness of setting the points… If u max zoom to point to the exact point u can’t scroll with the measure tool… if u use it where u see the whole area u can’t be accurate…
Here is an example of trying to measure the 100ft ruler :
5 feet are ok for getting distances to recreate a model but for what I do means I have for those 5 feet to visually calibrate the joint areas… which I already do…
Thanx anyway, I know u where trying to be helpful.
It would be nice if such thing existed in Falcon Editor where u can quickly pan scroll zoom rotate… Also this sun glare in Falcon editor is killing me…
