i would suggest that you learn these functions in context. For example, Don’t try and learn all the functions of the NWS/MSL-Step-Button at the same time. Learn what it does in the specific situation that you’re working on, than it’s pretty simple as you will find that there’s a system behind it and it will become quite intuitive . Learn the functions of the aircraft step by step. This goes for BMS in general.

Does anyone know if keyspeech would have the same problem? I’m also from Germany and thinking about getting it.

RE: Bad graphics
Did you use set the graphics ingame or in your video cards driver? For some reason when i use driver controlled settings (R9 380X) the game looks like crap, using the ingame settings it looks fine.

RE: Morphine's Profile
The only time I ever see the fast taxi on pit entry anymore is when I forget to cycle the throttle from idle to mil to idle during the load screen to pit. As long as I do that I will only be moving a bit when I enter 3D and can quickly stomp on the brakes and be all good.
Hm, strange. In my case this exact behavior causes my aircraft to cross half the airbase in full AB:lol:

RE: Wheel Brakes
I guess what Blu3wolf meant was, that when you hold down k, you apply the toebrakes as long as you hold it down. The parking brake on the other hand can be toggled on/off with shift+p or cntrl+k (in case of kolbe’s keyfile). Think of it like the two brakes in your car, the pedal and the fixed one sry can’t find the English word right now.

RE: Morphine's Profile
AB and Idle Cut Offs are set properly. And the only problems appearing are the ones mentioned above.
So when would be the right time to hit the brakes? -
RE: Morphine's Profile
Hi.
I have a strange problem when flying online. I’m using profile based on a sort of “blank” profile including the cutoff code that Morphine kindly provided me with.
Offline everything is working fine, but when i’m flying online and start with taxi/runway my aircraft starts rolling immediately. When i pull the throttle completely back and forth before entering the loading screen the aircraft rolls really fast, so i guess doing so i engaged full AB, at least that would explain the behavior. But the Aircraft also starts rolling if i don’t move the throttle at all. With a light payload it even starts rolling when i hold the wheelbrakes while loading.Has anyone else encountered this, and if yes, come up with a solution?

RE: Setup Problems
Take a look into Falcon BMS 4.32/User/Joystick/Generic/Kolbe/CH Fighterstick & Pro Throttle
There’s a document on how to program the stick and throttle.
Also in Falcon BMS 4.32/User/Joystick/Generic/Kolbe there’s an Excel document called BMS-DX-Generator1_6.xls
If it works for CH Stick and Throttle like it does for the X52, using this spreadsheet is pretty easy.
If you don’t know all those functions yet you can just use the assignments already made within the spreadsheet. All you have to do in this case would be to enter the device numbers, select your input device in the output column and then copy and paste the assignments into the keyfile you choose to use. Once you got the hang of it, it’s s so easy you feel like cheating:)

RE: HELLPP !! NEWBI ON TARGET SCRIPT
Hello DracEncula,
Like Frederf said, you have the option to either include or exclude the Joystick in your Profile. The better option in my opinion is to exlude the Joystick.
As far as i know, Windows limits the number of DX buttons per device to 32. I have only the Throttle in my script and even here i had to compromise and bind some keyboard mappings on the Throttle in order to use most of the switches in their different positions and avoid using to many “toggle functions” especially for crucial functions like Masterarm, Cat 1/3 etc.
For example on the Autopilot switch down right i have 3 DX Buttons for each of the 3 Masterarm switch positions.
But there is another advantage in doing so. I am quiet a lazy guy i and using this method you can easily map the joystick within the sim itself. Or you could use Kolbe’s DX Generator for the joystick. If my memory serves me right, the Warthog Joystick has all the mappings just like the F16 Side Stick Controller anyway.
For the mappings of the Throttle there is also a very easy method. You can just map the buttons within the Target Gui.
What i did was using Morphine’s Script as a basis because i really like his axis mappings especially the cutoff functionality. I then created a new Script using the Target Gui, mapped the Buttons and Switches there to my liking, opened the created keyfile and then justy copied and pasted the button/switch mappings into Morphine’s script.
It’s a really easy method and it works like a charm.Hope this helps.
Have a nice Easter and many happy landings.

RE: Data Link
I think what Frederf meant, was that not everyone has the same keyfile so keystrokes may be different for every user.
Thus referring to the actual switches/buttons/knobs or callbacks in the cockpit (the 3d one ;)) is more helpful and causes less confusion. -
RE: Simple Question from a BMS Noob (regarding avionics)
Take a look at the Flaming Cliffs Series. You might find what you’re looking for there. It’s not closely as complex as BMS especially avionics wise but on the other hand it is’nt complete arcade bullshit like HAWX either. Hope that helps.

RE: Total Noob needs basic flight training
I think another good idea would be to load a simple TE where you start, follow your flight plan and finally try to land the bird. Just following the steering cue with your flight path marker should help you to gt a feeling for the aircraft, at least it did for me.
Another tip would be to join a squadron if you have the time, you will learn faster and have a lot more fun.

RE: Total Noob needs basic flight training
Also try the training missions that come with BMS, just disable the training scripts. For those basic flying maneuvers there’s a mission where your start directly in flight. Just do some turns and get feeling for the handling of the aircraft. Looking into the dash_1 to get acquainted to the cockpit might be good idea to.

RE: How to choose a flight altitude?
Sry this is probably a dumb question, but what does NOE mean? I stunbled at this a few times recently, but so far couldn’t figure out the meaning

RE: DX or Target Profile
Sry for the late reply. At least for once i wanted to reply with a succes instead of a new question.
I can’t thank you guys enough for your help. Everything’s as it should now:headb:
With your permission i’d like to post it in the forum.Regards D_Fens

RE: DX or Target Profile
Frederf, thanks a lot, that seems like a great solution :bowd:
Could have come across that myself but well, as i said i have that tendency to make simple things complicated.
My idea would have been to add additional lines with key presses for the missing positions, but your idea sounds much more elegant and easier to apply.
Only problem would be switches like the MRM and DF override function which don’t have toggle functionality. But i think that could be solved by using a “hybrid method”.
For functions like the ones on the FLAPU switch just the DX buttons as suggested by you and key presses where there is no toggle functionality.
As for the sync problem, i don’t think that it actually is to much of a problem if you check, if your switches are in sync at rampstart, or any procedure where you would have to check the correct position of the switches anyway. Plus actually having to check the position of an actual physical switch should add a lot to immersion. The versatility of this hotas is really amazing. Especially in combination with this forum and all those great guys helping out newbies
Thanks a lot for all your guys help :bowd:

RE: DX or Target Profile
Hi Morphine,
Thanks a lot for your help and the profiles.
Yesterday i got it to work for a short time, but still ran into some trouble.
If I use your keyfile BMS still doesn’t recognize input frome the throttle but I guess that’s just some problem with the device numbers. The throttle alias Thrustmaster combined is listet as the first, the joystick as the second device. I just copy pasted my dx commands as created with Kolbe’s spreadsheet into his Keyfile and in conjunction with your target profile it worked.Problem is that BMS doesn’t recognize certain switch positions. For example only the ARM position of the EAC switch is recognized. Obviously the problem is, that only this poition is recognized as a DX button. I realize that this is a windows/BMS related problem.
But i would really want to use the switches in all positions listed in the spreadsheet.
I also realize that I (probably) have to use a target profile to make the switches work as i want them to. And i’m definitely willing to learn how to use the script editor to make the most use of my warthog. There’s only two things that i’d like to avoid: First making things more complicated than need be and more important: to spend hours learning how to use the editor and creating a script just to see that i’m trying to make something work, that’s just not possible due to limitations.I have attached my desired profile. Sry for the size but i didn’t know how to export it more “readable” from the spreadsheet :wfish:
1: Are functions like the ones mapped to the flapu switch or the ENG OPER switches actually possible as mapped in the picture below?
2: Looking at your profile i see that for example you managed to make both “physical” positions of the EAC work. How did you achieve this?
My idea would be that there’s one command for the ARM position which gets recognized as a button press by windows and then in the script an additional command for the button release when switching to the OFF position. Would that actually work?Sry for the long post and all the questions. Brief answers should suffice. Actually i only want to have some verifications to avoid wasting days of work just to realize, that i have been trying to achieve something impossible or that i make things unnecessarily complicate.
I promise to try and bother you as less as possible in the future:rolleyes:
Help would really be appreciated.Regards D_Fens
