RE: Why says "MFDS BACKUP INSTRUMENTS"?

No temporal soln existing?Replace the existing custom view code lines in ALL F-16 3dckpit.dat files with this:
// Custom Snap Views customview 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 -36.638332 0.000000 46.000004 " " 1; // MFDs & Instruments customview 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 -61.739338 0.000000 46.000004 " " 1; // Kneeboards

I also noticed this. And that the other custom view is for the kneeboards.
However I was unable to switch to that view.
Isn’t it supposed to be Ctrl-6 for toggle custom view, then Alt-6/-7 for Prev/Next custom view?
It didn’t have any effect.Custom views only work in pan view (3).

RE: RTTConfig and 4.36
@Dram Due to a DX11 limitation the minimum setting g_nRTTExportBatchSize is 2.

RE: AIM 120
Guys,
what Max and JP are telling you is this:If you’d really(!) have something meaningful to share with us you’d for sure never(!) share your knowledge publically(!) in a forum like this.
So, what do you think others think about your ‘way of observation’?

RE: PATROL mission type
Hi, I was wrong.
Patrol = Recce Patrol, but for Naval Assets.
So, your job is photograph, not destroy. Don’t confuse a Situation Report (…“disrupt” and “destroy”…) with your flights / packages task! The message is: In order to be able to destroy something we first have to do some recon.
For the missions:
Recce = Recon / photograph a tgt building
Recce Patrol = Recon / photograph ground units in tgt area
Patrol = Same as Recce Patrol, but for naval units in tgt area.
Hope, this answers your question.
I will add the description to the User Manual.
Thanks for reporting. -
RE: Keyfile and pokeys
He probably means Mal Ind Lights.
There is only one release callback: SimMalIndLightsOFF
It exists because IIRC a pitbuilder requested it for his rl panel.
That was before I joined the team in 2012.IMO with the current solutions (DX press / release events, or vendors programming software) it is outdated and not needed anymore. Apart from that the press and hold functions we have do exactly what airtex describes. There is simply no need for the release callbacks.
Btw. and off topic:
I would never(!) setup my full scale cockpit with keystrokes. DX is the way to go. -
RE: Canopy Open/Close Issues U3?
Read Technical Manual, page 180.
This is not new -> been like this since 4.35.0 -
RE: Why says "MFDS BACKUP INSTRUMENTS"?
That’s my fault.
I added 2 new custom views for all F-16s (MFDs & Instruments and Kneeboards).
Check ‘Alt 6’ while in pan view (3). Unfortunately (and without noticing it) the snap view (2) tends to display the name of the first custom view in the list, which is “MFDs - Backup Instruments”. I don’t know why that happens.
Usually the text is meant as a short description displayed once a custom view is active. Seems this doesn’t work as intended. I don’t know if it’s worth the hassle to adress it code-wise, hence I will fix this for U1 by simply replacing the descriptions by a blank character). Will also add a hint to the description in the Technical Manual.
Thanks for reporting.

RE: Falcon BMS.cfg changes
@Bad-Boy said in Falcon BMS.cfg changes:
@white_fang not critical at all
Correct.
But I have a solution for that in the future -
RE: VHF Freq Errors
This is as per design.
Since 4.36 Tactical VHF operations are conducted in the 30.0-61.0 and
136.0 to 144.0 MHz range. See Technical manual, chapter 5.13 Falcon BMS Radio Spectrum Management. -
RE: Tactical reference in 4.36 some 3D models aren't right
These are models used in Balkans theater but are not present in the stock BMS (KTO) database. As Balkans has it’s own TacRef I will remove them from stock.
Thanks for reporting. If you find more, let me know.

RE: RTTConfig and 4.36
@Dram From the ReadMe.txt:
For the "batch size", think of this as a "divider" of your BMS screen FPS when exporting RTT. So if you run e.g. BMS at 60 FPS, a batch size of 2 will export RTT at 60/2 = 30 FPS. As a rule of thumb, you want RTT export FPS to be in the 20 to 40 FPS area. Hence, if your BMS FPS is low to begin with, keep it at the minimum (1 for 4.34, 2 for 4.35+). If your BMS FPS is very high (90+), set the batch size to 3 and so on. **Note that with DX11 in BMS 4.35, due to the new rendering implementation, is technically not possible to export every frame, hence the enforced minimum (and default) here is now 2:** set g_nRTTExportBatchSize 2 Note that unnecessary low batch size values might add CPU/GPU load, depending on your system hardware.
