That would actually be pretty cool.

RE: Is smoke a bad sign outside the plane?
“lead, you’re on fire”
What if your the one that caused the fire?
(For example: Going full afterburner into lead after you forgot that a certain keybind is not tms up but throttle up) -
RE: Follow up questions
Technically I don’t think you have to do everything in the Checklist, some of the test and stuff are eye candy and if you want to do a super realistic ramp start. I typically just do an abbreviated one. Also for your comms, before you start a mission look at the breifing which has a comm plan. I typically do this just in case I forget my comm presets. Usually it’s pretty simple tho. After looking at the breifing go to the grey box on the lower right corner, this is your data cartirage. It has your comm plan. Make sure you click on comms, comm plan, then load. On Training TEs I believe it’s already done for you but better to be safe then sorry. Then you will have your comm presets set. Basically it normally is:
UHF preset 2 = ground
UHF preset 3 = tower
UHF preset 4 is departure/approach.
But yeah all presets are in your comm plan on the breifing.
And for ramp starting the jet, here’s what I typically do:1. Turn power to Battery
2. Set air source to norm
3. Make sure parking brake is on
4. Set engine fuel to norm
5. Set power to generator. (You can also do this right at the beginning of you prefer)
6. Turn on exterior lighting. (this can really be done whenever you like. I typically do it around this point and keep the Master switch off until later)
7. Close canopy and Start the jet
8. Turn on avionics and start INS alignment.
9. Set up comms
10. Reset FLCS
11. Clear all warnings and master cautions
12. Arm seat (can be done earlier as well)
13. Turn on RWR, chaff and flare systems ect.
14. Forget to turn anti-ice on (lol, don’t forget like me, this is another step that can be done right after you start the jet.)
15. Set ECM to OPR.
16. Make sure your FCR is on, at this point your FCR should have ran it’s bit test and INS should be ready to set to NAV.
17. Set radar to standby (switch it on once you have taken off)
18. Turn on NWS, remove chocks and safety pin.
Now you should be ready to go and request taxi. If anyone noticed I miss anything lmk, my process is a bit sloppy and isn’t realistic whatsoever. And it’s hard for me to tell someone ig cuz I’m just used to getting in the jet and doing it myself. But yeah that’s my start-up procedure. If you want the most realistic way follow the manual and the checklist. -
RE: Hornet Avionics???
Nobody mentioned anything about licenses and other legal issues …
Do you think ED is trading with manufacturers just for the pleasure?I thought copy right, licensing, ect. only applies to making money off of something? BMS is free, its not sold.

RE: Hornet Avionics???
Who is we?
I meant the community in general but I think I had a wrong choice of words. My bad

RE: Wheel Brakes not Working
Try pressing “k” on your keyboard and see if that works, maybe you assigned the wrong keybind? For wheel break the default should be “k”. Make sure you assigned wheel brake and not speed brake or something. I also recommend using alt launcher if you are not using it currently.
If you already double checked and stuff then disregard

RE: Hypothetical question on Avionics in BMS
Well now I have a reason to learn C++

RE: Hornet Avionics???
I love this idea but as we discussed in other threads, BMS has some other priorities. I dont think we should spend time working on an naval aircraft until we enhance naval warfare in BMS. With that said I am going to do the second choice, because I think this is something that should happen later on. Maybe if we get a .36? Also, would this new hornet even transfer over to newer versions of BMS? Thats a good question. Another thing we should address with this is about controller binds. Should we work on something so we can bind different controls for each aircraft? Maybe we should sort that out before actually making a Hornet with its own avionics. I love this idea, but their is some other things that need addressed first. Like Hawk and others said, its about priorities. I think this would be wonderful for the future. Ofc really I am still new to this, so maybe I am wrong.
Cheers!

RE: BMS Other Fighters Mafia (BMSOFM) Journal
I as well have been trying to land with the harrier, its very complex. Take off seems to be pretty easy once you know what your doing. I have managed to do a standard landing with the harrier but never a V/STOL one. My Standard landing was a bit rough as well lol. Harrier has a very different feel then the F16 so it takes a bit of getting use to. Also did you mean you were putting the F18 pit into the Harrier or did I misunderstand?

RE: Where do I start?
definitely join a squadron as previously stated. You can learn a lot on youtube but you have to read at least some of stuff in the manuals. Youtube is a great source but a lot of the tutorial videos are very outdated like BMS .33. You can learn general stuff from youtube but check the manual after watching a video. Usually for me I can look at the manual, and sometimes if I can’t comprehend, I watch a video then look at the manual again and it starts to make more sense. So it can help you in that aspect as well. Have fun flying

Alright, wasnt sure thanks!

Hypothetical question on Avionics in BMS
Hypothetically is it possible to add the avionics from other aircraft into BMS so its based on its own avionics instead of viper? Just asking.

RE: Any good F22 tutorials or manuals?
Metalhead’s F22 pit is currently in 4.35u1….

2012 pack
Somalia
Taiwan
Nevada
Libya
Kurile
I think that’s it so far.And here is Metalhead himself ramp starting it.
Thank you this is also very helpful. I wonder why they didnt come up on YT when i searched

RE: Do we develop the F-35
I am all for other flight models besides the F16, people say “this is an f16 flight sim” and how “other models are waste of time”. I completely disagree, I love flying the other models just as much as the F16. I would love an F35 with its own cockpit. That would be sick. BMS at its core is yes, an F16 flight simulator, but I dont see why we cant develop it into more. Isnt that the whole point of a mod? To make games into something more then they were originally? Thats how I view it.

RE: Any good F22 tutorials or manuals?
Beside the horrible cockpit (we call it 3D! but … ?) do you guys guy that F-22 is even not AFM?!
huh??? Think you have a typo and wdym by AFM? I am not familiar with that acronym

RE: Any good F22 tutorials or manuals?
In the KTO 2012 theater F22 is flyable, I have never done a ramp start with it so idk about that. Default KTO theater does not have it. I think the Nevada theater also has a functional F22 but dont quote me on that. Ripper would know. Here is a video by Aviation Plus, he did some flying with it

RE: If you could have any place made as a new theater in BMS. Where would you choose?
Some good ideas here. I like the area 51 idea too. That’d be cool, but couldn’t someone just make another campaign for Nevada Theater and add Area 51?
Also on an unrelated note. It’d be cool if their was a theater in the US and one of the campaigns be another country invading. -
If you could have any place made as a new theater in BMS. Where would you choose?
Hey I was just wondering what would be some cool places for theaters just for some fun speculation.
