RE: Night Flying & Situational Awareness
On the rear of the fairing for the position lights on the inlets are two small IR emitters and on the rear ECM housing are two more…
Besides, when you look at the manual, there are many more! ideal for holding the flight formation…
in the current BMS, The COVERT options (IR) are not implemented…An excellent idea of enhancement

RE: Machmeter : limited until 1.4 instead of 2.2
@MaxWaldorf this is written on the real manual…and also our doc

RE: BMS 4.35 Screenshots
@Bad-Boy , to be honest, impossible to see the tanker even with NVG before being pre contact position !
IRL, NVG mustn’t use for refuelling …but they are also useless because they do not allow you to see the tanker despite all the lighting available !
really, this is undoubtedly unplayable : this is the point that has not enough improved to make more immersif the full dark night flight …once in contact position , after much effort, even the big light of the tanker does not illuminate anything.
as I already mentioned, the NVG FOV are wrong ( 30° in game vs 40° IRL)
the NVGs are also of poor quality in game : not at all like 3rd gen !
I don’t see the tanker as well as here
without NVGs, the slightest light is clearly visible with a dark night, like strobe lights…pity, it is not yet simulated
clearly, this is the observation we had with WTAC Griffons members yesterday
Now, I shall keep my fingers crossed that some new improvements are implemented one day …

RE: Is BMS supposed to look like this?
I advise to enable Image Sharpening in the NVIDIA Control Panel for a better rendering
I put 0.8 for Sharpen & 0.2 ignore film grainsee below where you can find this option
I get this
with image Sharpening
without

RE: Santa's wishlist for BMS
I thought I understood when reading that JDAM bombs could not be as accurate as LGBs (Paveway III): indeed, they could suffer from loss of connection with satellites or even jamming…I would like to see uncertainty or enemy jamming introduced in BMS in order to introduce a new dimension to the planning of ground-air missions and to put an end to god bombs…

RE: GBU54 is it loftable?
As the vertical steering cue VSC doesn’t display for GBU 54, you can miss the drop!
by the way, I recently discover an interesting thing : fuzing option plays a new role… see below
If a MK-82S, MK-82SBA, MK-36, BSU-49, BSU-50, or BSU-50B is selected with NOSE as the fuzing option, LO DRAG is displayed along with NOSE adjacent to OSB 18
The munitions will be recognized as loftable munitions, and loft symbology will be displayed on the HUD.
If any of the mentioned weapons is selected with NSTL or TAIL as the fuzing option, HI DRAG will be displayed. The munitions will be is recognized non-loftable munition, and loft symbology will not be displayed on the HUD. -

in my opinion, this topic should be closed : no link works

RE: BMS 4.35 Screenshots
where is the Tanker?
where is the ground?
where is the manpad?
it’s unplayable on a dark night!

RE: WIP sounds mod
before dowloading this mod, I’d like to listen the new sounds to be sure it’s worth it : is there no video to show the difference ?

@Mav-jp said in On what grounds would you wish 4.37 to be developped?:

Things like the 4.36 ext lighting implementation (although impressive) adds zero value for me.
i think you miss some important gameplay that goes with it
not only you are now able to see who is who based on the number of strobe flashes
but as lights are detectable by Enemy, fying covert gives you a tactical advantage
pos ligthings are also a plus for formation flying
detectable by ennemy : very interesting!

NVGs FOV underestimated?
I’m opening a topic that I had already discussed: if we read the documents about NVGs, we see that they often mention an FOV equal to 40°.
so if I take as reference the key points of the cockpit , as described in the manual page ( see below)
we see that the current FOV is much lower than what we should see in game
I traced with redline an approximative FOV we should have : I think that this kind of comfort is not insignificant…and the way around is not to put your head back…normally there is the seat behind …so I think the FOV should conform with the reference sitting position
