I wholeheartedly thank you all for expressing your honest opinions and giving advice… Plenty of food for thoughts, really.
The reason for the question contained in the original post would require a lengthy explanation on my part (again, no technical issues or FPS drop), so let me conclude by saying that I’ll certainly rethink it all.
Best regards to All.

RE: Which of the previous BMS releases...
Thank you for your replies, Everyone.
@Seifer My problem with the missing mouse cursor was solved almost at the instance I posted it.
And, no, I don’t have any specific problems running 4.37, technical or other. Posting my (polite, I hope) request I was hoping for some recommendations regarding the PREVIOUS (pre-4.37) releases.
Just one more question, this time a pretty straightforward one. Can any of the previous versions be installed along with 4.37 on the same machine?

Which of the previous BMS releases...
Hi,
First of all I must emphasize that this post isn’t meant to carry any disrespect or a lack of appreciation to the developers. On the contrary, I do appreciate and admire their programming skills, willingness to make the sim better and sheer enthusiasm.
There are reasons, however, why I must discontinue flying in 4.37. My question is therefore which of the previous releases would you recommend as the most stable, possibly with fewest bugs and the most reliable database. It doesn’t have to be the most realistic or best looking ;). I am prepared to move as far back as the 4.33.
Thank you in advance for any relevant input. -
RE: 4.37 - no mouse cursor in cockpit
@Snake122 - thanks a lot. That cfg line replacement worked like a charm.
BTW, I’m not sure whether I should thank you first or rather apologize to the dev’s community for not having read related threads. I was so anxious to solve my problem and fly that I forgot about the obvious: search first, than ask… -
4.37 - no mouse cursor in cockpit
As in the title… I use the regular launcher, and can change views with the mouse, while no mouse cursor is visible in the 3D cockpit.
Probably some small omission on my part; anyway, I’d be grateful for any suggestions. -
My today's "discoveries"...
“Discoveries” - because until today I haven’t tested this awesome theatre. Today I found out the latest version is 4.36-compatible, and-hey!-it certainly is!.
I took a Warthog for a ride, and, man!.. another nice surprise: what a great plane to fly! I usually fly the F-16, so the trimming was somewhat new to me, and I wasn’t sure about how the landing would go, but even though it’s a completely different story, I managed to bring the bird safely back to Edwards AB. The flaps do their job rather nicely, something we needn’t worry about flying the F-16Many thanks to the creators of the Nevada theatre and the A-10 FM.

RE: 4.36.3 update not installing
For your information, I place all BMS-related installers/patches + the sim itself on E: even though my system resides on C:, no issues.

Additional config lines needed?
Hi,
In the intro information for the 4.36.1 one thing was not perfectly clear to me. I removed 4.36.0 and performed a fresh install of 4.36.0 + 4.36.1 (successful!). Do I need to add any script lines to my config file? Thanks.

RE: F-15c air to air mode
You can simply enter either of the two A-A combat modes by pressing “M” (missile mode) or “D” (dogfight mode). Cancellation (default key “C”) will put you back in the nav mode. At least that’s how I do it. Those keyboard command assignments are the default ones in the Full keyboard file.

RE: EMF v1.0.5 Bugs
I have reasons to believe it’s not the Ataturk Airport itself that causes the CTD. A similar problem was signalled in another thread. The poster stated he had had a CTD any time he approached Bosphorus. I replicated the mission, and indeed, the sim stopped working. BTW, I also tried to bomb Ataturk Airport with Mk82s, approached directly from the west and got a CTD when I was about 5 miles from the target. Mystic_J took note of the crashes and said he would investigate into the case (could be "a FUBARed bridge
).

RE: [Released] EMF v1.0.7 (BMS 4.35 U2)
BMS crashes when I approach Bosphorus! Is it a bug or a problem with my installation? Thanx in advance!
I confirm that. Made a simple TE where I approached Bosphorus from the west (the Sea of Marmara), then turned sharply north and… that was it. “BMS program stopped working” was all I saw…

RE: Installation issue
You need to install the program on your HD (a minimum install, some 160 MB, will suffice). BMS installer won’t do anything with it; it will just check for its presence. You will have to keep it residing on your HD at all times. Then BMS is a separate, independent simulator, not a mod of any kind. Make sure to install the U1-U2 updates, too.
Edit: Check the forum ‘Releases & Updates’ for more information on how to install and update BMS, which can be quite tricky…

RE: [Released] EMF v1.0.7 (BMS 4.35 U2)
I’d appreciate that, thanks, Uwe. We’d have to get Mystic’s approval to do that, right?

RE: [Released] EMF v1.0.7 (BMS 4.35 U2)
Any chance for a torrent download or any hosting server other than mediafire? For some reasons the DL times from mediafire are horribly long for me, to the extent making that link unusable.

RE: FYI on 4.35.2 update and Falcon BMS.cfg file..
Icer - you’re right. After all, changes to the config are signalled in the update announcement. Anyway, I ran through the config again to introduce the settings that work for me (and I always remember which ones ;)) Actually I had made a backup of the whole config folder, just in case… I’d hate to have to go through the controller setup yet again, but that seems to have been left untouched

RE: U2 and third-party theatres
Right, that seems to be working as you indicated. Thanks so much, such an idea would’ve never occurred to me…

U2 and third-party theatres
Hi,
After the U2 update I launched the only third-party theatre that’s currently installed with my BMS, namely the NTO Polar Vortex. I ran an Instant Action and a TE mission, and both went just fine. But in both cases the program crashed (stopped responding) when I tried to switch back to the KTO and the program attempted auto-exit to Windows. When launched again, BMS was still in NTO and could be properly switched to KTO UNLESS I flew a mission. Is it a matter of some NTO/U2 incompatibility or should I search for other reasons?

Can't download from MediaFire
Hi All,
I have no idea what’s going on. When I commence the DL from MediaFire, my browser (currently Brave) indicates the DL time of an order of several hours, sometimes even more. With the recently added EMF theatre the expected DL time was 23 hours! I still have the good old FireFox, but attempting a download from there makes no difference. My internet connection is OK; recently I have downloaded a 1.9 GB file from SourceForge, and it took just several minutes. Also all downloads carried out via Torrent are lightning-fast.
Any ideas? Has anyone else experienced a similar nuisance? -
RE: Bms 4.35 windows 7: the program can't start because d3dcompiler_47.dll is missing
I don’t see why. BMS4.35 uses less GPU than 4.34.
That’s right. I have a dated machine, too, and, to my surprise, 4.35 runs better than 4.34 did. Win7/64, no probs.
