v4.35.1
When in a 2 ship as flight lead and asking my wingman to fence in, he replies “3 fenced in” when actually he is number 2, not number 3.
The correct response would be “2 fenced in”.

Hey Ironman
It’d be worth submitting it as a feature request to the devs - https://www.tacview.net/support/featurerequest/en/
I’ve been listening to 'Jello’s podcast for a while now, great stuff.
I think I’ve listened to all 25 podcasts within the last couple of weeks! It’s a great insight!
No answer here, but this sounds like a good question to submit to https://www.fighterpilotpodcast.com/
Anybody has any ideas as to why when I am in 3d or 2d cockpit view it seems as if my screen is slightly shimmering or it seems as if it is going in and out without input from my controller.
This happens to me.
I use the friction slider on my Warthog throttle as the zoom axis. I assume it’s just that the slider is a bit inaccurate and is caught between two values.
An option to clear all PPT without resetting the whole data cartridge.
Thanks.
Actually I’ve got two spare monitors not hooked up at the moment.
I used to have my mfds mounted on a second monitor but it was off to the side of my main monitor which was a bit of a pain at times which is why I’ve added them to the lower corners of my main screen.
I’ll look at setting the second screen up again.
Hey
Quick question re cockpit display extraction.
I have my mfds place in the bottom left and right of my screen, this means that when in 2d they block out the bottom left corner of the screen.
is there a way to position the 2d screen 450 pixels to the right, without affecting the 3d full screen position?
I tried setting the ‘Main’ screen in config to left: 450px, which is great in 2d, it centres it nicely between the 2 areas blocked out by my mfds but it positions the full screen window 450 px from the left of my screen too, which is obviously no good in game.
For example, this is how my 2d displays, if i change this to move 2d to the right it affects the main 3d screen position.
Thanks
Done. Thank you.
Man, they really bury that setting. I couldn’t find it at all on the Steam web site. I had to right click the Steam icon and got to it that way after searching and going 4 pages deep. Anyway, all done. Thanks again.
No problem! Happy flying!
Ok, the only reason I have Falcon 4.0 installed is so BMS can see it at startup. I forgot who I bought it from, but I thought I was buying an independent copy of Falcon 4.0. As it turned out after I paid for it I was transferred to Steam to download it. That’s not what I wanted. So, now I have Steam installed and I hate Steam. It’s always running in the background and I always get messages from peeps trying to be friends. No thanks.
The problem is, if I uninstall Steam it takes Falcon 4.0 with it. Then BMS won’t startup. My question is……How can I keep Falcon 4.0 and uninstall Steam?
You don’t need Steam to be running in order to use BMS.
With Steam open, click the Steam menu, and choose Settings. Click on the Interface tab, and uncheck the box that says: “Run Steam when my computer starts.” That will stop Steam from running when you start your PC up, it will only run if you choose to run it.
Haha, I think I actually did once. We’ll have the server back up in a week or so. It’s running ARMA right now.
awesome!
There was an intermittent issue in older version that would cause the bombs not to release if you held the pickle for too long. Not sure if this has been corrected or not, but typically a 2-4 second hold prior to release point is sufficient and works well.
I was flying with a pilot last week (on 4.33.3) who was having a problem releasing via CCRP, he changed to pickle 1-2 seconds before release point rather than a longer hold and his bombs have released every time since. So it looks as though it may not be fixed.
In my experience the blue pause text us usually down to network/bandwidth problems (usually when we’ve had people with poor/slow connections in the flight).
Nothing really to add just wanted to say it’s nice to see another north eastern viper driver! I’m in durham.
Greetings,
I did a flight today and lost all my avionics and had to rely on backup to get home.
When I tried to use the backup UFH comms it did not work. I was trying to contact OSAN Tower on 308.80. When I tried to input the freq manually it only went as high as 308.70. After .70 it went to .00
I read the manual and ensured that I had switches and knobs in the right place and setting.
Perhaps I didn’t do this correctly? Can anyone confirm the procedure necessary to use backup UFH on Comm1 for a freq of 308.80?
Thanks,
-Matt
Same here - you can’t select xxx.80 on the radio
Found it, ctrl + r
There is a cockpit switch - It’s this one circled.
Top position: Silent
Middle: Quiet
Bottom: Norm
Does anyone know if there is a cockpit switch to change the radar mode in the 29s? I’m stuck in silent mode…
Does it have to be done via a key press?
Cheers
I created my own Bullseye laminated it. it is the best form of training aid I have found, I can actually find targets now aswell as give target co-ordinates. On a mission is there a best position to set Bullseye?
For ease of use putting it on the target would make sense to me as you’d know anything close to bullseye is going to be a factor but I’ve never thought about moving it.
Though this is probably not best practice for operational use.
