Nice, but it looks polygon intensive. How’s the fps? Also, have you figured out how to place the trees on a slope?
-
Guys, the pics are from the old Microprose game “European Air War” from 1998. Yes, I said 1998, thats 17 years ago, I really doubt is polygon intensive, as that game covered the full of western Europe from England to Berlin, including England, Belgium, the Netherlands and north of France as well as Germany to Berlin with millions of those trees and houses and no one ever complained of that, even in 1998!!!

got it

trees on the slope are already discovered since 1998.
Since some uninformed (or by mistake) activist flipped terrain diagonals in BMS…it is possible, trees are not placed correctly now. The same faux pas (bug) caused moans about water textured on the sloped terrain…and created public opinion “vanilla Korea terrain is still not developed after 18 years” …it led to 3rd party terrain overhauls etc… needless snowball effect because of one small typo

These are outstanding bugs right? Realistically are we looking for 0/0 before we see a release?
-

Great progress on the unconfirmed but 2 more confirmed, thats unsatisfactory
Priority level of each is also factor.

Of course not.

Anyway, thanks for the effort and keep up the good work

This is a Chimera. Will nerver have this.
Goal is to have no more hight-prio bug (and no show-stopper of course) … but some (many) bug will remains anyway. Remember that BMS is an eternal WIP, so 0/0 is just impossible if we want to release one day (in 3 - 4 weeks) …

“Eternal” is one of those words one would never want to read when talking release dates

So true.
Back when Open Falcon was actively working on Falcon, that small team compared the code to a spider web. Disturb 1 strand and the others come apart. I understand that errors would present themselves but one just has to wonder how many bug files fbms generates now, compared to how many the next version will produce, and so on. Anyway you look at it, it is a daunting task.

Hey, I wonder what ever happened to those guys?

you mean globalfalcon or openfalcon ?
Global Falcon was the web sight that Naldo ran for quite a few years before the bms forums opened up. Most came over from Frugles World after that sight, got out of hand, so to speak. Open Falcon was a small development team that pushed Falcon further from SP4. From what I heard, most of the ol Open Falcon team merged with bms. Dont know if they are still there but OF created one of the most stable online Falcon next to AF. Formation flying got much better as VPs could tuck in much tighter than any previous version of Falcon. But some of the work done there caused other issues that bms has since resolved.
Once again, bms has created an evolutionary roll to Falcons legacy. Keep it up guys! You havent let me or the community down yet, and probably never will. Cant wait to see the next step in Falcons evolution!
