Pilot model fo F-16
-
Hi! Does anybody knows how to unistall the pilot legs in the harrier? thanks in advance.
-
Managed to install legs/kneepads for the F16 52+CFT model which I use in the campaign. Also tried it in the Harrier, but that screwed up the whole cockpit so had to revert to scratch. Then found that if I just use the new 8018/9 .dds files (i.e. without replacing the model via the LOD editor, then I can have customised kneepads since the legs mod is already installed for the Harrier.

After Bms 4.33 pilot legs works only for old cockpit models from 4.32 .
There is new cockpit model, especially in Balkans theatre where this is nogo , you can see in 3dckpit.dat if the third line is commented with //.
So every cockpit where in 3dckpit.dat ’ //cockpitmodel3 ??? ’ is Rem’ed , legs will not work. Different model, which includes both cockpitmodel2 and cockpitmodel3, …
you’ll get cockpit without back and floor…, but with legs Great down view.If in lodeditor your lod from parent looks like this one in picture , then mod with onlylegs will work. Else, dont bother, … or, if brave there are many ways to circumvent this,
eg. create new cockpit, copy-paste different cockpit … etc , etc. Out of scope here…Just FYI … Always backup your “\Object” files , not “\Object…” subdirs.
Hope this clears some fog
Cheers

Loved the kneeboards. … hope this mod gets updated.

I’ve copied old cockpit (without EHSI) just for that., kneeboards … too many paperwork otherways

Just find out which cockpit model is been used for the F-16 of your choice by looking in the ART folder, then open it with Lod Editor and then use this to help you add it:
Its not hard.

Tried the mod, did not like it.
Too much morbid without the arms.

A txt instruction will do fine.
What parent, do this, do that, like 4.32 instructed.
I miss the kneeboards  -

Newbie here.
How can i install the leg to other aircraft, not only the F16 cockpitmodel2 .
Can i put the pilot model into cockpit with lod editor? Or i have to use the 3Dmax? -

Been flying the Israel theater and reminded me how much Imiss this in Korea and Balkans. So basically the problem is 2 fold, one it has to be installed on every F-16 cockpit now that there different blocks to you more models to install which mean a bit more work but can be done. But the bigger issue would seem to me that the pilot model isn’t changed for the new 4.33 cockpit tweaks (and may even need tweaked for each block)…
My other question besides for graphic issues when using this in 4.33, is if you are also using the importer that could take your lineup card from WDP and put it onto the kneeboard? This was great but again it might have more issues since you have to be cockpit specific now. I lost the file in my last reinstall so I can’t remember how it defaulted to import it but I believe you generally pointed at the model once at it would default that model, now best case would be you find the cockpit you need and then import to it.

Hehe, I find the default no legs and body more disturbing since I would generally move my arm out the way to see things in RL, but my legs are harder to move out of the way in the cockpit, not to mention my body

Couple corrections….
Not all blocks have their own cockpit. For example, I took the pilot body and legs from ITO and put them in KTO and the block 50/52 use the same cockpit so the legs are in both. You only have to do it for every cockpit that is different (i.e. C vs. D, or MLU pits vs. U.S. pits).
The texture used (your kneeboards) is the same for ALL cockpits. Regardless if you have to install the legs 5 times for 5 different F-16 cockpits, they all point back to that same kneeboard DDS file.

So does the ITO 50/52 body lod work with other 4.33 cockpits as long as I install it in each one or will there need to be other models?
That makes since about the textures now that you explain it.

That would actually be the correct way to do it, F4 DOF linked with 6 DOF motion sensor (TrackIR or whatever). I guess/think/believe that will be done at some point. We are not against having pilot body in cockpit, but we would rather do it the right way.

Ya, I’ll post a guide for you shortly.
