F16 becomes unstable and unable to fix it.

I had this also a few times, but when i tried to fly again, sometimes it didn’t happen again
could it be that you fast forward the game until the location and then…?

Although there are times that I do use fast forward on some long waypoints, but not for the entire stretch, this was not one of them as the waypoint was fairly close. I have actually never had any issues coming out of FF. Thanks for the idea though.

The AFM has a RK4 algo to solve the physical equations which can be sensitive to the time steps, so yes, oscillation can happen with fast forward acceleration. On the ground, you can even damage your AC.
Should go back to normal after you get back to x1 though.

more exciting than exiting!
Hehe. yeah you’re right!
So if it was exiting … so it is cool … IRL also shit happens.

Try “FLCS Rest” switch … it might help
its on the FLT Control Panel rear left consul above Manual trip panel.

Flying in a 4.33 campaign, Rolling Fire veteran level. Day 2 BAI mission out of Kangnung. Loaded with centerline tank, 8 GBU 12, 2 MRM and 2 AIM. Started bombing runs. Released 6 of the bombs and started a sharp turn back towards target but when trying to level out the nose starts to wobble significantly. Pich up and down approx. 5-10 degrees while at the same time yawing 5-10 degrees either way. Not hit by any sams, or aa or msl. Trim did nothing, releasing last bombs, ejecting the centerline. Sped up, slow down, no change. No errors in cockpit. Tried FLCS reset just for fun, but no change. It was like the wing wobble motion but much much more severe. I have an XPS8700 8 GB RAM GTX 960, good frame rates.
Not sure if this was a programmed to experience glitch or an known issue?
Thank you.
EDIT: I did locate the LCO discussion. Is this an example of it per chance? The demo tape sowing it was much less severe than what I experienced.
What CAT did you have?

Thanks, did try that, too no avail.

Those oscillations are only a problem if they are constantly happening in different scenarios and/or you can reproduce them at will. If the glitch hasn’t appeared since the one reported incident, just write if off as an ATP (“anomalous transitional phenomenon”) and move on.
If you can repro the problem at will in either the campaign and/or a TE, then the four obvious areas to perform PD (problem determination) are your system’s hardware, system’s software, the F-BMS installation, and your HOTAS controllers. If I had to guess at a problem, I’d first look for issues with your HOTAS controllers (e.g. spiking, drifting, latest drivers, etc). Related to checking the controllers is checking the status of your PC’s USB ports too (try different ones). As for the PC, try adding another 8 gig of RAM, etc. As for the BMS game itself, pretty much all you can do is save your config and user files then un/reinstall it.

Going with ATP for now.

I may actually be an accurate modelling of the autopilot…some tend to “nibble” around turns, particularly if they are operating coupled to DME or TACAN. As long as you don’t over-G or crash, and the jet flies straight when you cancel AP…fly on!

Started bombing runs. … started a sharp turn back towards target …
We’ve all noticed in 4.33 the jet is more effected by wing flutter, and more likely to get pranged when overgeeing. Kinda wondering if that’s the issue. I used to make a sharp break turn after ordinance release as a matter of course, and messed a few jets up in the process.
However, I remember I always got avionics and/or SMS fault messages, and since it sounds like your cockpit troubleshooting was good you would notice such.
Can you damage the jet and not get fault message(s)
