quick question where would i buy a copy of falcon 4.0 that would put the most money in tommo’s pocket as a thank you for them working with you folks and us. I already own the original cd but i can shell out a few bucks to make their agreement with you guys beneficial for them as the new ip owners. so should i buy my 2nd copy from steam or gog or do they have their own distro website for giving them the “thanks” money?
-
Is that Dark Falcon ? I thought it was vapourware !
Open Falcon and Dark Falcon are 2 different things.
Cheers,
LS -
Till now the guy that gave - created the dark falcon name remains unknown.

If you have an original CDROM, use it.

So DJ could you please provide some detailed info how you did it?
I will need to install it on my work laptop which is win10.
Not super detail just the basic will be enough i believe.
Is it going to the exe and right click select properties and in compatibility select winxp? -
Falcon 4.0 installs fine on Win10 Arty. Haven’t you tried it yet?

thankx for all…… we love falcon 4 and BMS!!! thanks a lot…

I know this was touched on before, but I wonder what the likelyhood is of releasing Falcon 4.0 with BMS 4.3.3.1 as a package? You could say it’s unfair on the BMS guys (and gals?) that they’ve done loads of work and won’t receive a penny, but it would increase the player base of the game hugely. And maybe in future versions, the BMS team could benefit financially even if it’s only to cover costs. From what I can see the people playing BMS are only those that played Falcon 4 originally. There’s a whole generation out there now that know nothing about it. I’ve introduced my 11 year old to it now though
Feel free to delete, if anyone feels this is inappropriate.

Nice that there was no high-drama between the BMS community and the new IP owners, as has happened in the past in the long saga of Falcon 4.0.
It is important to keep that perspective.
I’m a first-time poster, but have been crashing simulated F-16s since the 1987 version. Falcon 3.0 and an FCS/WCS combo got me through my undergraduate biology degree. Sim flying has been on hiatus for several years with a mothballed first-run Cougar and trackir. My 8 year old laptop runs BMS around 15 seconds per frame.

Grate news! Although I don’t fly Falcon4 and upgrades on a regular basis anymore the situation with the IP is satisfactory for now.
One minor thing remains. Is there a guaranty that BMS would not become a bloatware (malware and countless ads together) under the new license agreement?
The nagging screen mentioned in the first post is already alarming. We are witnesses how a grate soft could be ruined using this business model. -

What you criticize as a ‘nagging screen’ is an industry-standard Title Window found in all professional software applications that provide Title, Version, copyright date, Developer, Publisher, etc. Kind of like the opening credits in a movie (which I’m guessing you don’t like either?) I bet you REALLY don’t hang around for the closing credits either, right? lolol

Gentlemen please,
DO NOT continue on this, it has no meaning as also it may raise a without reason “fight”.
Let’s be thankful to what great sim until now the BMS team gave us, as also let them to manage (they already did/do) the future of this simulator.
Noboby force anybody to use this sim, so if some users don’t like it or they afraid of anything they are free to not go ahead with the new version of it.
But they don’t have the right to “bother” and complain for something that actually didn’t yet released.
Personally i’m very pleased and thankful with what until now i have by these great guys for free, and i mean everyone inside the BMS team (as also all the external developers), and i have trust and faith for their future actions.
Let’s try to keep a low profile, it is good for everyone, if you get my point.
Nikos.
