4.33 UI vs 4.33 FPS
-
Thats why i prefer to set the AA, AF etc. in the ATI control center. So i have full control over it.
-
+1 on performance hit with U1. What’s up with that???
-
Wrong config i guess.

I found 4.33.1 a large improvement with FPS over 4.33. When boresighting Mav’s (Wpn image and TGP image up on MFD’s, using in game extraction) in 4.33 I would drop to 25-30 FPS but with 4.33.1 I only drop to 50-55 FPS.
Also, I thought I would just try the in game graphic settings and it works fine (I use to tweak in nVidia control). With vSync on I hold 61 FPS for 90% of the game, biggest hit I find is when boresighting the Mav’s.

Add me to the list of those who have seen a significant frame rate improvement of 4.33.1 over 4.33 (~15-20fps)
BMS Devs, if these dramatic fps improvement surprise you, I hope you find the commonalities among those of us who see such improvements and capitalize on it! For the first time, I am now using per pixel lighting, full PS effects, and max ansiotropic settings and STILL get +15-20fps improvement. I actually have neighbors who have no interest whatsoever in flight simulators coming over to my home to see Falcon in action because it looks so realistic. Thank you so much!
And by the way, just strictly my own opinion, but 37" HD monitor at 30" away is the sweet spot for amazing immersion.

+1 (minus the neighbors… they don’t give a shit).

Same neighbors as me. Same with almost everyone I know actually.
I also get very noticeable fps increase and MFDE MFD’s work much smoother on client computer.

I have a pretty weak machine, but FPS improvement is clear in my case, too. Strangely, the worst FPS killer in my install was and still is HDR; when I disable the effect I get perfectly flyable 30 FPS. As regards the AA and AF, whether I use the Catalyst Control Center settings or sim UI gfx settings makes very little difference.

I’m running NVIDIA 980s and I see a drop, but I have all of the settings balls to the wall. I’ll tweak some and see what happens, starting with HDR.
-
I am using 2 x 680s. With 4.33 i was balls to the walls as well. i used to get run 50-60 with vsyn holding me down at 60fps. i now get 30s - 50fps with stutter. If i go external view i jump up to 90-120. It seems to be in cockpit where i am seeing the biggest difference.

I would start with the anisotropic filter .cfg line first. A 980 should be plenty to run HDR. I’ve seen reports of Nvidia having both seen improvements and hits, I think it is something in the drivers letting the ansio run crazy without this cfg line set properly in some cases.

All are sycn’d to 16x. Too much?

From another thread, might be helpful for you guys showing a hit:
]https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?26623-Reduced-fps-in-Bms-4-33-1&p=375554&viewfull=1#post375554Will try this! (also have af set to 16x or 8x via nvidia inspector, didn’t see much change). Thanks

Same, but regardless of ingame extraction (or mfde). Seems like tgp drops me ~10 fps, and mav uncaged ~10fps (both on screen, minus ~20fps unscientific)

Just FYI,
SLi and Xfire are not supported in bms. When I have Xfire enabled, the load up screen freezes. If I manage to get into pit, it has bad stuttering. Disable SLi or Xfire until bms supports it.
-
no doubt!!! 4.33.1 has much better performance

Afr2 sli works for me with performance improvementsNo need to fight. There are several threads on this subject.
There are others that detail how SLi/Xfire have issues. Maybe 4.331 has better support for SLi/Xfire. Don’t know as I would have to test that. Been REAL BUSY as of late. Only downloaded 4.331 I have yet to install and set up. Perhaps a dev can chime in on the latest version and SLi/Xfire for 4.331

In general, neither is supposed to improve with anything DX9. IIRC Viral, you run multiple monitors which may be the exception.

True. In the thread I posted, we discussed that same set up. Disabling SLi/Xfire but using multi monitors through multiple cards got several guys up and running well.
