4.33 UI vs 4.33 FPS
-
For whatever reason I’m getting higher and smoother frame rates at higher graphical settings (i.e. maxed autogen trees) in BMS 4.33 U1 than in BMS 4.33 or 4.32, for that matter. So… thank you BMS Team for that!

+1
Congratz again for doing outstanding work!

Last week I have tested and compared several settings, and I have found that enabling ‘override’ anti-aliasing from nvidia control panel drops more FPS than enabling it from BMS UI or applying ‘enhance’ AA from nvidia control panel.
I loved to see both RECON and LOADOUT screens anti aliased well, but I may have to quit ‘override’ setting if I want more frame rates when I fly.

Yep,
BMS has it’s own AA and AF settings. I find that the GFX card does a better job of AA and AF without sacrificing FPS. I would suggest doing everything one way or the other. I disable all AA and AF in bms. I set AA to 8x (I can go to 16xAA but there is little to no improvement). And, I set AF to 16x on my GFX card. Everything turned up in bms except for those features works very well.

Falcon BMS Cfg, change the setting to “0” see the sample here
set g_bExportRTTTextures 0Why?
In testing that option had no discernable impact on framerate, which is why it’s now on by default.
BMS Manual p243 if you want to know what it actually does.

Wow setting g_bExportRTTTextures 0 has given me an additional 25-40fps…thanks for this little tweak.

On my old rig set g_bExportRTTTextures 0 works too. In heavy training mision No.8 TFR, fps went up from 43 to 52. Worth a try if you do not need the picture extraction.

In short, I do not use display extraction so I set g_bExportRTTTextures to 0, which improved my fps

Greetings all.
I’ve also noticed a significant improvement in FPS since the release of 433.1.
It’s not that I’m getting more FPS as such but I’ve noticed that I’m not losing as much as the original 4.33.
I have a midrange PC and after installing 4.33 , I had to relinquish my second monitor which I was using with my “Cougar” MFDs, as the performance hit was too much.
When I installed the original 4.33 my FPS would slow down to 25-30 with both TGP and Mavericks on the MFDs and that was without the MFDs been extracted to the second screen.
After installing the Update, I’m getting 40 solid FPS and that’s even with the MFDs extracted to my spare screen.
Thanks so much BMS Devs.
Regards. Jay. -
Im in a similar postition Jay, i had to give up the korea theater altogether, and use the israeli one, (which i like anyway) because it was just about playable on my ancient rig. I have not really had time to do some serious testing with u1, but i would love to bring my second screen back with my mfd’s too.

I use display extraction, tested to set g_bExportRTTTextures to 0.
Nvidia settings default, all Falcon ui maxed, config maxed (exept shadows on smoke and reduced ps)
Using 1920x1080, extracting right mfd.
I get 90fps !!! Mav-training TE, BOTH mav cam and tgp active engaging vehicles.
I got 30-35fps in 4.33
Gtx 670
intel 3770
win10Amazing!
Thank you BMS-team!

Don’t get it, you have export textures disabled but you can still extract the mfd’s?

Precisely. I use falcon extractor.
Can’t say how much it gave fps-wise if any, but I have more then I will ever need now. -

Even with YAME64 if you use the hook dll you can export texture to a remote pc with export textures disabled in falcon cfg

Weird, I just changed it to 0 in both 4.33 and U1 and I notice no difference at all in FPS
