So, what is the best wpn 4 this mission ?

IIRC, SA-5 has a very high minimum engagement altitude.

Geek sesh facts. The SA-5 is a pretty old missile that was designed to shoot down bombers better than the SA-2. If you are under 5000 ft you can destroy it with a hammer.

Best choice is an F-16I armed with 2 Delilah Stand off missiles…
They allow you to stay out of the harm’s way on heavily enemy defended areas! First you need to have a good idea about the topography of the target area and training on tactics for properly using this special IAF weapons. Worth every penny!!!
Keeps you busy up to the last minute upon impact (due to “Man in the Loop” guidance method) but gives you an EXTREMELY rewarding feeling when you complete your mission!

What is the ECM modifier in DB? If it is soo low it should be changed. In fact in RL S-200 was quite jam resistant, theoretically VGPO was designed against it, but never was tried in RL. When Libya launched missiles from S-200 site targets within range always went below the horizon instead trying to defeat the missile. The missiel had so big seeker and CW Radar was so powerful that a MiG-21 size target could be locked from ~130 km. Because of SARH guidance missile had to lock on target befor launch.

If you open with F4B the DB you still can see it and change it. I did it for testing ARH chaff sensitivity (they are immune by the code). I can do tests with other radars.

f4B is not BMS tool and is not maintained, stop using it.
DB structure has changed over the years and some fields have been re-purposed. You have the BMS editor which is kept up to date with BMS code changes. if you are missing a feature there, let us know.Anyway, this particular byte was never a “real” field, it was the 15th byte in the name field (which was therefor limited to 14 bytes) 4.32 could still read and use it, but it was fixed in 4.33.

Sure it does! Unless you mean in the ITO in which case i wouldnt know. But in default bms 4.33.1 the square pair radar (radar type 36) has a jamming penalty multiplier of 0.180. Its nominal detection range is 61 miles. The rcs multiplier of the f-16 is 1.0. This means that following this formula (nominal detection range * target rcs) * jamming penalty=burnthrough range , you get 10,98nm burnthrough range against a jamming f-16.

The formula i use comes from this PDF (dont pay attention to the values, only the formulae) link is in the 2nd post https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?12402-Radars-in-F4&p=168848&viewfull=1#post168848 . Its from the allied force era but ACMI tests (lots of them) confirm the calculations i do (with bms values ofcourse). so according to that its actually :Burnthrough range = {nominal radar detection range * target rcs}/radar signal strength* (1/ecm penalty) Because we calculate max burnthrough the radar signal strength is 1 (radar signal strenght = radar detection range/target range) and therefore eliminated from our equation. So the final burnthrough formula is (nominal detection range * target rcs) * jamming penalty as i posted orginaly.

I think that the trouble may be that when the burn through range is reached, I get inside the minimum firing range for the missile so the site doesn’t fire at me. These are limited to observations, no calculations.
