Test low-poly toys in BMS4..

Indeed, I esp. liked your IAF RF-4 with the IFRP and the modded wing HP’s. Is there a way to change the texture-sets of a .dxm in LE? I’ve tried int he past, and they don’t seem to save (reopen after change/save as and original texture list restored). If I could figure-out how to do that it wouldn’t be necessary to convert to .lod.

I don’t honestly recall, sorry. It has been a while. What I do recall is having to juggle between LOD and DXM. So, switching back and forth between the two was pretty common, especially during workup of CCC’s low poly models - lots of little tweaks. I think you have to have build your set plan in LOD/LODEditor. The back and forth steps don’t really take that much time once you do it enough times. That is Falcon deving

Nice skin (never seen before)

I never get tired of seeing these cool models posted up showing lots of interesting possibilities. A lot of these low poly models are severely underated for two reasons; 1) they can form the basis of a very interesting early development of a theater, 2) many of these models, with a great skin, can look rather impressive and give a lot of enjoyment if you can resist the temptation to inspect rivets.

Indeed, vis the ITO Mirages: quite nice in those skins, though they all could use a little improvement around the nozzle area, IMHO (I’m just an ass-man, I guess).

and ya, great memories working on peru-chile theater… Twister also invested lots time and effort on it… terrain and 3d DB are roughly done and we simply can’t figure out a working campaign.
Well, if you ever do, give me a call. I’d be more than happy to contribute.

Agreed. One of my unrealized goals for ITO2 was to obtain a high poly model set for the Mirages. If we could have obtained just one, like the Mirage IIICZ, I think we could have come up with some really kicking stuff. For me, having a few high-poly center piece models for each campaign is the way to build - then use the low poly stuff for nearly everything else. This cuts the development time by quite a bit and what we did for ITO2, even though it still took 6 years. However, it might never have come out if I had insisted on waiting for all high-poly models to replace ccc’s stuff. Instead, we could roll thru thing rather quickly, have a lot of enjoyment and leave the door open for later improvement.

Btw, how do you replace the shadow?
