Development of new airbases - how to correct ATC instructions?
-
This is the guide? I got it as information about the functions of tlktool. When I start the tool,
for a short moment a cmd window appears and that’s it. Nothing else happens. I’m confused…Regards

Start it in a command line and you’ll get the full help.
-
This is for the stations files
Use 32766 for every AB you create and you’ll get no radio names spoken.
well u open a dos window. u go to the directory where the tlktool is and u execute the exe
if u want to see it’s commands run it like that
tlktool.exe /? -
Sometimes…the answer is soooo easy.
It worksThank you very much :bdance:

Yeap great tool but no UI. That’s why I started a new thread asking if a coder is willing to enhance it and make it user friendly.
Glad it worked for u. -
Now I have another question:
It seems like there are two ATC voices (female & male). These must now be assigned to the new airfields.
TomCatz told me that this information is in the station+ils.dat. Unfortunately I can
not recognize an assignment. Can someone help me there? Perhaps with an example …Regards

Hey Arty,
where do I find the informations about the “callsigns” in the stations+ils.dat?
This is for the stations files
Use 32766 for every AB you create and you’ll get no radio names spoken. From where do you have this number (32766)?
And: do you know, what then “campaign ID” in this file means?
And: do you know, why there are two files in Balkans, Ostsee but not in Korea? (stations+ils.dat and stations.dat)I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

Is here someone who can help us?
We want to make the Ostsee-Theater nearly perfect.
This includes, of course, a correct ATC radio and correct runway-headings …Best regards

And: do you know, what then “campaign ID” in this file means?
CampId is a number that designates each objective. Each Airbase has an unique Camp ID. This is assaigned in the Te_new.tac file (or save#.cam if is a campaign).
To check it our you can use a few tools: Terrain Editor, Mission Comander or TacEdit (maybe more).
To assign an ATC frequency to each airbase you would have to edit the stations+ils.dat file.
I recommend you do it using Terrain Editor. It has on its menu: tools>Stations and ILs and from there open the stations+ils.dat fiel, but before using this tool is advisable to also open the te_new.tac in the ObjectiveLab also within Terrain Editor. This way you will see the names of the airbases when accesing the Sations and Ils tool. There you see or can add the CamID lines with the frequencies and channels you want to assing for each airbase. This way you enable ATC, ILS, TACAN etc.
Now. To tell the ATC the number of runway they can assign takeoffs or landings you need to edit in Falcon Editor the Airbase Objective. There double click on each of the RunwayListTypes and under the Runway Texture value you should assign the correct one according to the table I posted in post #6 in this topic. This tells the ATC the availabe runways and their runway number (36 right i.e.)
An example in KoreaKTO:
Kunsan airbase has CampID: 766 and Tower UHF 292.300. It only has a runway (has some sort of an emergency run way used mainly for taxi) So it has Two RunwayListTypes, one for taking off or landing from each header of the runway.
In falcon editor (CT 3095) Kunsan has for the first RunwayListType the value 17 for “Runway Texture”, which, according to my table is for atc saying “RUNWAY 1-8” (correct since the real course is 176) wiht no Right or Left assigned. (Single runway airbase), and for the second RunwayListType a “Runway Texture” value of 37 which corresponds to ATC saying “RUNWAY 3-6” according to my table again.
Use this example and my table as reference to assing the correct courses. (Hint: Look at RunwayListTypes as if you where going to takeoff following the route they describe)
About making the ATC say no name for the airbase…. I don’t know how to do that. Sorry.

Hello,
To replace the atc-voices in the Ostsee-Theatre I will use a text-to-speech-software. I use the iOS app “VoiceReader”.
Unfortunately, the Ostsee-Theatre also contains German words, which should be pronounced as German as possible:- Laage
- Wittmund
- Jagel
- Hohn
- Neubrandenburg
- Nordholz
Maybe someone has an idea how I can write the words so that an Englishman pronounces them correctly (see note for J-F-K)

Ok, for other people that might follow our footsteps afterwards:
The value to change is, for each runway, in the second RunwayListType, change the “Texture Value” (double click) according to this TextureID table we have developed reading the evalFile.bin:Hi Blackwolf,
didnt catch the Link between your Texture ID table and the evalfile.bin
I tried to do the Changes for Pescara´s RWY´s 22/04For the “22” i used ,according to your table , TexID 47. Because there is no “22” frag availabe,i used the “22R” , it works fine. ATC calls now " Runway 22 right"
For RWY 04 ,it should be TexID 57 / frag Nr. 1187.
In Game ATC calls only “four” (which is the content of Frag 1187) ,that´s not call which was expected. (should be “Runway 04”)
Of course there is no Frag that calls “Runway 04” this one must be created first. But how to change the link between Text ID and the used Fragfile ?
Hope you can follow my explanations.

Thank you Arty!
Using your tool we figured out how the thing works and which values to use.

Could you please elaborate how exactly you created that table?
I have changed all bin files to xml and have them in excel but can’t link them as you did here.

Never mind I just got it.
On the Runways you declare the Runway texture value in Falcon Editor. This actually is the evalElem field of the evalfile.bin
All runways in the evalfile.bin have id=47
each evalElem record has a fragId the fragId can be found in the F4Talk95v1-0-0.csv in the field Fragment and that number in the Fragment field is the file that will be reproduced from the falcon.tlk file which has all the audio files…Must enter it in my Falcon Editor manual now.
Also to the Dev - coder of the Falcon Editor this field Runway Texture maybe should be renamed to evalElem.
Finally I started a thread in the past if a coder from the community would be kind enough to master this headbanging procedure and produce a nice app with a simple UI to make it easy to work with those.small example there is no reference for the id grouping in the evalfile.bin
The thread is here:

Sorry I couldn’t help you in time. I am on vacation and away from my computer… and this I figured out some time ago. Too much for me to remember without looking at the files.
I remember I used a tool to “unpack” the .bin file. There I looked into the code of a file… Maybe it was on xml but I don’t remember which tool, or file or… anything
