So dude I thought of something…
Remember in good ole 4.0, you could get your ACMI to play back on a black mesh…
No weather, no terrain, no hazeAlso you could zoom WAYYY further out, like if you did a 40 mile setup for bvr in dogfight you could zoom it all the way back to encompass the whole fight, and you could actually see the ends of the wingtrails, and the selected labels.
I’m not saying take away what’s there now,
but man, I’d love to have that back.I’m more than a little surprised that tacview doesn’t do this.

paid version lets you zoom out as much as you could need. You can scale the trails with zoom or leave it at the realistic sizing. The black background is something I never really thought about, but now really want. Suggest it to Vyrtuoz I guess?

On the rest of the stuff Vandal, RD has the right of it. Its an F-16 sim, at the heart of it. And you did ask for the same level of realism - you asked that the other work for other AC be brought up to at least close to the same level as the F-16.
Yeah I understand what you are saying but I don’t recall asking for the “same level of realism” for the other aircraft. It’d be fantastic but I don’t think that’s in the cards in the near future at all.
In the very first post I said “3. Clickable 3D cockpits for all the planes I am not even talking hi-fidelity, IMO an F16 pit should only be available if flying the F16. With regard to 3D cockpits, I realize that basically it’s probably going to be laying over the top of F16 avionics for the near future, but the F15E pit is pretty good and sitting in it you know which plane you are in.”
Yes, I did in fact later on say, “It’s pretty cool that Viper pilots are giving BMS a thumbs up in the realism department. But I wasn’t trying to say don’t put any effort into realism, I am very happy that BMS has in the past focused on it. I was just saying, at this point in time, please focus on some of this other stuff and get it caught up to at least be close to the work you’ve done for the F16. That’s all.”
By that I just mean give these other areas (specifically multiplayer, 2D interface, and 3D pits for the other aircraft) some of that super focused labor of love attention that the F16 has gotten and these other areas will shine. By “close” I mean I’d like to the other planes have pits that are close to what what we see in the F15E. Where you can sit in it and know what plane you are flying even though the avionics underneath are F16 avionics.
So if others were thinking I was saying something else I don’t think they were paying close attention to the context of my posts. Which is fine I don’t read things thoroughly myself and get things screwy in my head all of the time, so I am not worried about it, but I do want to clear up this misimpression of my views on realism for this sim.

Again, I think in time there may be better pits for the flyable a/c. Give it some time. Let the devs do there magic! Enjoy what we all have now. I haven’t flown any of the other a/c yet but intend to soon. I love flying my Viper too much I think.

Oh yeah, the point of the thread is to say what you would like to see the devs focus on next, at least that’s how I took it. And that’s all I was trying to do and explain my reasoning behind focusing in the areas I selected. I am not sulking about it. I see that over and over again here where the older guys like to paint the new guys as pot-stirrers and troublemakers for having an opinion. I think that’s what happened again because as far as I can tell, everyone agrees with me that those areas are lacking and it would be nice if they were improved. I was just adding my two cents and all hell breaks loose as if I was spouting lies and trying to ruin everyone’s game. Nope. I was just adding my observations to the stack.

I am not sure if this has been suggested before here or in another thread, but I would like to see animated ground handlers and/or ground support equipment, especially when I declare an emergency! I’d love to see the fire trucks rolling towards me after I land!

The ability to change chaff/flare loadout, such as 90 chaff/30 flares instead of 60/60, without editing acdata(which doesn’t work)

I think this one would probably be relatively simple to implement…
Instant action is cool or whatever, but the spawns seems like right on top of you and/or behind you.
That’s fine for one thing or whatever,But I think a constant “feed the fight” where the spawns always pop up BVR would be pretty sweet.
Establish a DCA cap and just keep throwing waves at it until player gets schwacked.
Slightly more difficult, put a ground target (a building maybe) and a hvaa back behind the cap, and if either of those things gets schwacked by red-air, then instant action is over.
I’ve tried building this sort of thing using the TE editor, but that’s really cumbersome,
and it’s also not at all dynamic.However the instant action mechanism generates a new spawn of stuff (once the last spawn is dead or gone from the map, or every XX minutes, or whatever) . just applied to a common point of origin maybe 50 miles from the dca anchor.

I’d like a bit of an update to AWACS comm. instead of just telling you where the closest group was, if it could include the size of the group, and type of aircraft, that would more more realistic and helpful. I’d really love an actual picture, but I could see that being tough to program.

Not “I want” but I just have started to “making” something that might help BMS users. some simple ideas would change BMS setup drastically, See you guys in 3-4 weeks.

It’s different…but even if they don’t model the actual expendable, O1 and O2 should be included to be able to bring the counts up to the full load. Would have to be able to load C and F as requested to even consider including this option.
