Canopy Scratch/Reflection Textures
-
Are there any higher resolution canopy reflection textures? I sometimes struggle to visually locate aircraft as I find the reflections a bit blurry. Does a higher res version exist?
Thanks,

Unlike real reflections one cant focus past them.
On the other hand scratches are a real killer when the light hits them so. -

Actually, the impairment of your ability to see is far more realistic.
-
In reality, the reflections are extremely noticeable, especially when looking out of the canopy at an angle.
Anything colorful will stick out like a sore thumb, patches, scarfs, etc. Very annoying when trying to shoot some decent photos.

A camera at that angle shows them well.

If you want to take nice photos then jettison the canopy = problem solved

Hm I noticed it’s very noticeable through a lens, but much less with the eyeball mark I.
PS; a good polariser filter on the front of the lease helps a lot getting rid of those reflections -

I do confirm.

Thinking about physical lightning behavior, by theory, Eye focus and angle to the glass surface would be the key. More angle close to parallel to the surface more reflection. Just like a water. More focused on the glass More sharpe reflection, if focused on far landscape it becomes blurry. If background landscape are dark it becomes more visible. Also when closing your head or camera to the surface the head should hide other internal reflecting lights from the cockpit and become less reflection.

If you find the scratches annoying, thus disable them
You do this by finding the correct dds file (e.g. 8003.dds) and make sure the area over the picture with the pilot / cockpit stuff is completely black on the alpha channel (of course, only this area, otherwise you screw up other visuals in the cockpit)
Downside is: when flying, you feel like you fly with no canopy.

Thanks dude, but I don’t find them annoying, just a little on the lower resolution side is all. It in fact probably isn’t the main cause of me struggling to spot AA stuff; it’s more like 3440x1440 21:9 with an 85FOV that causes things to be small.
