Custom Modded Folder for 4.33
-
Great work, thank you. Particularly the F-16 skins. However, I get odd textures on the AIM9X and AGM-65D’s.
The 2.1 notes say: “Removed Hi-res skins for Aim9x and AGM65 models causing skin issue in game.”
Am I missing something?
What version did you download?
Did you overwrite your existing objects folder? -

Did you overwrite your existing objects folder?I downloaded the 2.1 version linked to in the first post and yes I did overwrite the objects folder.
Seems the AGM65G and some of the external model pilot and cockpit textures went weird too.

Hello Rthorflech, The mod is usable with the Ostsee theater?
-
Same problem here. All the AGM’s and Aim9x have odd texture.

Ok what’s happening is your overwriting your existing Objects folder with the modded folder. Because the Hi-res textures are STILL in your existing folders, 2.1 doesn’t overwrite them. In 2.1 I have removed the Hi-res textures for the AIM 9X and AGM-65D. Since there is nothing to overwrite, it keeps the HI-res .dds files that are already there. Please read the install instructions:
Do not overwrite your existing Objects folder. Rename or backup and delete your current objects folder and replace with the modded objects folder.

Ostsee Mod M2_1

http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2017/08/17/FalconBMS2017-08-1702-20-01.jpg2.1 is NOT compatible with Ostsee. That is a very different database. I think Tom has done a wonderful job with Ostsee. I do not require to modify his work as he has a lot of upgrades and custom objects already included. Using the modded folder within the Ostsee theater can/may cause issues.

Got a bit eager there…fixed it now. Thank you

i get the ‘wrong acdata file’ when trying to connect with multiplayer
is that normal with this mod?
-
when you try to connect to a mp server?
-
Yes this is normal… You must have the same files as server…
-
I just wanted to post some screenies of my F16 and some AI F16 that have a model issue regarding the left hand main gear.
The wheel turns and the aircraft handles on the ground okay, just a graphical glitch. Hope this helps the dev.

if you use Janhas models be sure you have updated the dat files included in zip file, they go in sim acdata folder. Read instructions to understand better what I’m saying.
Cheers

Or turn off must have same acdata file in the settings menu under multiplayer.

Is that a server option rather than client ? I would expect so in which case I presume only option is to revert to backup folder ? I have not installed yet but read in 1st post “while still providing you with the ability to fly online without issue.” and now less certain what that meant.

I know when I fly in multiplayer some of the guys don’t use the JanHas models and we have to make sure that in Falcon under the multiplayer settings we have the same acdata box is un-checked. Not sure if that’s exactly what you’re talking about. I know that’s how we fly in multiplayer.

It’s a simple tick box in the configurator under the multiplayer section. I can’t remember what happens if you have it ticked as client, but if it is ticket as host, clients MUST have the same data files or they will not be able to connect. It’s sort of an anti cheat, but I don’t see why anyone would feel the need to cheat. If they have to cheat to win a dogfight, maybe they should go back to ace combat or battlefield 3…
-
So the point is then you cant use this folder when wishing to join a server unless by some chance they have turned off the “no cheat” setting ? Even though its surely not any form of cheat mod. If so then the claim “while still providing you with the ability to fly online without issue.” is not in fact correct. That’s what it seems anyway.

If you know what you’re doing, one could adjust the FM data to have more thrust on their jet etc. If you fly in public groups, it would make sense to have this setting enabled. Flying in a vfs won’t require it (unless it’s sop) as often as it’d quickly become clear if you were cheating
