Can please someone test this:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/y616l5vi5f4qg6h/main_group.7z
???PLEASE BACKUP THE FILE FIRST PLEASE
it goes to C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Data\Terrdata\misctex
just replace the file.Or if you don’t want to replace it put it in:
C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Data\Terrdata\misctex_HiResI’m not 100% sure that Falcon Particle system uses this folder.
Just pumped up the resolution and changed the fireballs and two smoke elements which are bellow the fireballs.
They need some Alpha tuning to “maybe?” look even better… as I left the original alpha as it was.
will do and the smoke stacks.
The resolution of the fireballs can go higher (around 1000^2) but that would mean new files and areas declared in the ps ini file and unfortunately I don’t have the time and means for it.
Just a wild blind test here… if u guys would want it and see fit I can do it better.Edit: and if u could share some screenshots or vid I would appreciate it…
Edit2: I just updated the file with the smoke stacks… Curious for the results…

I’ll give it a shot Arty…get back to you in a bit

Ok Arty, here it is….blast has a square look when up close…from a distance looks nice, & its also messing with flares as you can see.
-
Hang out Arty, im going to run another test, i forgot i have modded blasts in my hi res folder gimme a min to try this out.
Ok just ran it again…same thing happened
-
The squares are from the Alpha channel or transparency.
It must be adjusted to fit the new channels.
Thanks for your time.
Smokes didn’t change?I’m on the phone right now, I’ll have to look at it on my PC, I don’t seem to recognize the displayed effect on your screenshots with my moded file. There is one fireball I didn’t touch and looks like it.
I must create a reference for that DDS to be able to identify and link with current ps effects, to distinguish them easier.Edit: yeap it has the new file also. Hard to tell from a phone screen. Yeap alphas need work.

Smoke looks more brownish then black.
-
Strange. Probably fireball is too strong. But I’m not talking about the smoke inside the fireball, or very very close to it, but way up high above the fireball.

Having the ability to test ps effects in falcon Editor would be a nice - great thing…
Mortesil is asking in the background for the next project or my ears fool me? [emoji38]Στάλθηκε από το MI 5 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk

Well if you look at the pics from far away, above the flames looks brown, the flames themselves look awesome!!!

What would be IMO a nice addition also, would be to have a “persistent” (about 30s to 1min or so) black smoke after an a/c crashed.
Implemented for next version.

Any chances to implement such a kind of ejection method in the future version?
or anyone has this program or source code?
-
I think that this gonna be more tricky! … way way more …

Hi Malc!
Could the same be done for SAMs that hit the ground too?
I do not see what you mean? SAMs? … you mean missiles hitting the ground? (My guess: a missile hitting the ground wont produce any smokes as miliary war head is very low and is not hydrocarbons / wont burn per say)

Hey DJ. Yes Sir, on them occasions when, for example, I am low and an SA-2 shoots several missiles at me and I turn to put the site on my six, the missiles will go ballistic and fall to the ground. I usually see a smoke trail to let me see where the missile hits the ground but nothing more. As you say though, I guess it is perfectly feasible the missile doesn’t actually explode on impacting the ground (to be fair I just don’t know if it would/should), so…

Don’t forget that the big explosion + the leftover fires are caused by the massive amount of fuel, mostly. Missiles fired AFAIK burn their fuel in a couple of seconds, so most of time when missile hit the ground there will be an explosion from the explosives but not much to burn after that. At least so I think…
