We made it lock on flares, but I never tried on gun rounds If confirmed, I’m not even sure I want to remove that, after all, gun rounds do emit in infrared a bit

About that : it does work like that. To be perfectly exact, the symbol is always extrapolated 8s. Before, every aircraft answered at the same time and CONT rounds were asked every 8s so you didn’t see any symbol disappearing. IRL, each aircraft answers sequentially, if only to avoid jamming each other The CONT round delay of 8s is applied between the last reply and the new round.
On intraflight jamming, slightly OT but now that DL piggybacks on the correct uhf/vhf frequency, wouldn’t that ultimately have an effect on voice comms similarly to the stepped-on tone with multiple simultaneous voice transmissions? Or is the system capable of filtering out the DL data in RL? (I’m guessing here assuming the chirp we hear is actually data like in old modems/the matrix)

The adjustable width of UI PPT rings in pixels is a very much welcomed feature. Is it the biggest change since 4.33, hell no, but doubling the width of those PPT rings is a huge help when planning in a 1024x768 window on a 3440x1440p screen!

yes, you can set the priority as a DTE load option. guess which one has priority IRL

“IDM operates over VHF or UHF radio, so you cannot transmit on VHF or UHF and send/receive data link transmissions over the same radio at the same time.”
Try it out. If you have the IDM running CONTinous rounds and transmit over the radio you will notice the datalink does not update while you are transmitting voice.

humm… I retested I doesnt seems to work. Dont know what it was locking though, as there was nothing in the vicinity…

Outstanding, thanks for clearing that up netstat and darkman, I couldn’t find it in the manual, my bad. And I did check whether voice would be impacted but it’s quite logical that voice has priority I agree. These little details, cool.

Here is a nice one I noticed: Previously if you just bug a contact with TMS right, the bandit would act as nothing happened. Now with just a bug he will go music on. Previously he would only activate his jammer if hard locked.

Visor tint can be defined in 3dckpit.dat via visor_tint_color 30000000; (default value in ABGR hex format).
3d visor model is controlled via DOF COMP_HELMET_VISOR 99 (do not forget to change maxDOF in parent to 100). DOF Range is 0.0 - 1.0. -

This is only visible from outside IRL. Inside there is no gold tint (speaking about visor, Canopy I don’t know but I don’t think either).

I know that some IR seekers can be jammed in the ground (hot sand for example, some vehicles exhausts also) or the sun (obviously) … even in some case the sun’s reflection on water. (speaking IRL of course).

It’s only one way because of the coating on top of the glass surface. Similar to spy mirrors at police stations.
