LODEditor Replacement

IMHO y’all should sit back and take a deep breathe……IN REAL LIFE!!!
Then come back to “IT”…
@Mav…sorry for your loss…but, time will heal it.
@Deej…3rd paragraph is spot on, But it has happened continually on most Forums throughout the past two decades…Sigh!
@Mortesil, In my time on “Teams” many thing’s I developed and presented were scoffed at or dismissed by the “Powers that Be” on those Teams. Discouraging? Yes. Getting me kicked from the table? Yes.
Did I stop developing my ideas…NO!!! Kept going and provided the communities with what I had. Whether it was code “HACK’s” …LOL! or just tip’s or trick’s in the DB, I put them out there. Like my friend ED_1 stated to me a Loooong time ago “Not everyone is going to like what you just did” or something like that…LOL! Doesn’t matter really, as long as it is out there.Kind Regard’s,

Jp, going easier on dev is certainly wise. I don’t think it is becasue of Mortesil, IMO it was just the “trigger”. We have some other examples where families suffered from that passion. Better stop before it is too late. I know that BMS is part of your life and I have a small idea how many hours of your life you’ve offered to it. But one have to keep in mind that, after all … it is “just” a sim … a “video game”. (but what a damn tough video game! )
I always say to Devs: No matter what you do, DON’T burn yourself out. Just don’t, it doesn’t worth it. If you feel that you need a pause, take a break, get the hell off from everything and come back with new powers. Things will delay? so they will! No one will die.
Although some people think otherwise, we are not in competition with anyone, and the 4.34 release and the funny state of DCS just proves to me that there will NEVER be replacement for BMS as the best F-16 simulator. There is always another mountain to climb, but we will keep moving forward, that is our power and our choice.
Cheers!

… problem is: it could also be some kind of addition. And sometimes I realize that.
Well … back to Dev duties, I have to honor Jp’s latest taxi branches features and Malc’s work … and Polak … and Nove … and … and …

Just a small thought from a newbie member (if compared to you all): +10000.
Taking a deep breath and a proper amount of time would be of any help?
Anger might be a real beast and can drive us to tell (or do) things we never wanted to in any other circumstancies, you already know well. With best regards.

Yeah. Sorry 'bout that, man…

You are clearly one of the reason i decided to stop developing , investing 20 years of my life to be treated like shit by people like you.
Please always bear in mind there are a lot of people who are not active on this (or any, like me) forum. For those people, your work is greatly appreciated and treated with deep respect. I personally recognize Falcon BMS as one of the most successful software I’ve ever had on my drive since last 25+ years of my computer use. So let some random guy on internet thank you for your work, right here, in some random thread.

You have clearly abolutly no idea of what you are talking about.
Those statements are ridiculous, i think many people could testify how much help i brought to them , how much i have supported community ideas inuto the BMS development, and how much thousands of hours i have spent to implement community ideas that I didnt care about.
I dont know if you are proud of you , but considering i lost my stepmum from cancer 1 month before your words and having my wife crying every night because of this disease , believe me it hurted me badly.
You are clearly one of the reason i decided to stop developing , investing 20 years of my life to be treated like shit by people like you.
again, you can be proud of yourself , well done monsieur , your mission is accomplished , i wont pollute BMS code with my cancer hands anymore.
I’m fully demotivated as well

The written word in absence of context and inflection and delivered in a language foreign to comfort and facility, is certainly a way to foment anger and misunderstanding.
Always read giving the benefit of the doubt. Even if you are wrong, you are right.

Timewind, you have had a great point indeed here, if I daresay.
The same could be addressed to PumpyHead, told this by another one for whom English won’t ever be his native language.
And, well, this now is positively NOT the usual problem afflicting all the sim communities here and there we all use to experience and know, but something more serious. BadBoy underlined it out, and his is a sentence and a loud scream in disappointing at the same time, to my own eyes at least.Long live Falcon?
Just my quarter of a cent.
With wishes to our common passion and best regards to all.

you already know well.
I cautiously assume you refer to my not so long ago DCS “trip”. if no, then this post is a mistake, but if yes then, I’ll tell you this:
That DCS ride was born from an initial post that I felt like an insult to BMS. If someone does that on the outside (FB, DCS, twitter, whatever), I don’t care much and just shrug it off, but doing that HERE isn’t acceptable in my eyes, and so I fired back, and from there it rolled out into some ugly back and forth posts. I believe in a polite conversation, but once I feel aggression, then I return with the same coin.
As for general “time out” for developers, yes I think that may be necessary if someone feels “burned out” - I know because I did it once and it really helped me.
However, a Dev must have still that spark in him in order to continue, because working for free on a demanding piece of SW like BMS is demanding, sometimes more than RL work. So if that internal spark is lost, I don’t know if something can be done. -
Do it like Leech. Keep it low here, and stay active elsewhere.;)

Dear I-Hawk,
thanks a lot for what you have explained and for all those you gave to our community in years, most of all.
Yes, I already had all clear in my mind about the meaning of this topic, if I can express myself this way. And I’m aware that more than someone at DCS is behaving aggressively against BMS and all what this one can mean. That’s worse is that this is DCS devs.'s behaviour, almost unbeliavable but unacceptable in any case.
Their loss.
About your last point, I couldn’t agree more, if I daresay. Sad, perhaps, but not for this less true. With best regards.

Even if you are wrong, you are right.
Sigh
Do you have NO appreciation whatsoever of the POWER of the ellipsis; how the use of such could marshal your trite statement toward impactful breathlessness…?
To wit: For… even if you are wrong… you are… RIGHT.
See…? See what I did there…?
-
er, no. Could you explain it? Perhaps a little slower, and a little louder?
