Played Falcon back in the day on my Amiga 500… Now into DCS but looking at BMS...

How about a kickstarter to fund VR support? I’d pay.

You cannot buy time with cash.
N+1 times have been explained why is not set up a kickstarter project for this. Because the point of BMS. It is free. -
However… I’m no longer able to tolerate staring at a tiny 2d compressed image.
Will BMS ever support VR?
I mean… DCS, IL-2, Prepar, X-Plane all support VR.
Good luck, don’t look back and you miss the most complex and living environment which ever has been created…
Just a hint. The quality of a simulator does not depend on VR support…

Just a hint: The quality of F BMS is not under question. I just prefer being fully immersed rather than staring at a tiny 2d window. I was staring at a tiny 2d image since the 80’s and in VR since 2006. It’s not negotiable. No going back to flat-earth simming.

Fine. See ya within 3-4 weeks. Maybe we can learn that time “tolerate” your comment and approach…

I respect your opinion and (though I am waiting for the VR Resolution Wars to begin to try one out) understand the appeal, but “immersion” means different things to different people. BMS immerses me in the whole feeling of being part of an ongoing, ever changing war and having thousands of options. Graphics are 1% of what I “see” when playing, and though of course I would like the latest/greatest graphics I wouldn’t trade BMS for DCS even if Microsoft licensed their latest graphics to them…. but I would enjoy both for what they are.
-
Guys please, no need to argue. For sure BMS team has nothing against VR and we would like to get VR support ASAP, the problem is that it is a slow process and it also depends on other internal processes which are going on already. So to sum it up just read D-J post again:
@Dee-Jay:Hi!
Answer is: Probably yes.
The other question then could be: “When?”
There is simply no answer to that question.

I get what you’re saying. Games can be immersive outside of VR. I have played one particular game on my iPad for thousands of hours. When it comes to flight sims though I can’t go back. DCS does have issues and some of those issues may never be fixed under the current leadership. Seems to have become a module selling platform (although I did appreciate the graphics overhaul). I find IL-2 more immersive than DCS in VR… for some reason it just feels like I’m in WW2 to a degree I haven’t felt with DCS even with the spitfire module.

That is excellent to hear

As with Star Citizen, it’s nice to hear that it’s coming (probably). The “when” isn’t so important to me.

I do that all the time. I have knocked on 3 stranger’s houses today… asked to have a look around. Two of the houses I wasn’t happy about the decor (or furniture). I offered constructive advice on how to create a better aesthetic flow. The 3rd house was just right, so I complimented the owner and left.
HA! Maybe I misjudged you…but the question comes up far too often lately and it’s really getting old. Maybe I am a grumpy old man. As already said, VR doesn’t make the sim, but maybe you could have phrased it a little better.
Anyway, you seem to be a good sport about all the negative comments, so maybe you’re an alright guy. Hope you get your wish someday, but Falcon requires a little patience and every little extra we get comes from the heart and soul that the dev team pours into it free of charge. It wasn’t that long ago that we were never going to get IFF.

I’m proud of you guys! It took 4 pages but something potentially toxic turned out allright :drink:
What was it again? Oh yeah… GOTS! Whatever stick that may be

I absolutely could have phrased it better. Phrasing made me look like a muppet.
I just watched a Grim Reapers video on youtube for DCS World. They did an experiment to see if drop tanks dropped onto another aircraft in flight would cause damage or just pass through the aircraft? Needless to say there was no collision detection! So I suggested maybe someone try the same experiment in Falcon BMS….

Figure on a 2 week ban for using “BMS” in a post…
Actually I looked for it in the F-16 Forum, couldn’t find it, deleted?

Funny thing you should mention getting banned for using “BMS” in a post on DCS forum. I tried asking a question on their discord server something to do about how BMS does a certain function and if DCS could do that. needless to say my post to discord immediately deleted by a BOT that monitors for swear words and any combination of “BMS, B M S, benchmarksims, etc ….” Which I thought was pretty childish of them to set that up.

Those guys can’t be definitively serious.
With best regards.

Oh, this was already clear, and not to me only, I guess.
Let’s see if this will be enough…
Thanks, I-Hawk, with best regards to all.

Try: even falcon 4.0 has it. -> Permanently ban.:p
