Link 16 things you want in the next update

OP title says 16 things, I just want one…
For the Awacs to give priority launch and threat warnings when I am targeted by enemy during A/G missions. The vast majority of my shootdowns by enemy aircraft are from getting jumped while setting up for ground targets. Sometimes my AI wingman will call out “engaging Mig-29 11 o’clock…” but by then it is usually too late. Meanwhile the Awacs radar controller must be finishing his sandwich?

Actually, in this case the way it is in BMS is the way it is in RL…your wing or (Division mates) has the dot for alerting you, and the primary responsibility is yours.

A serious suggestion. Occasionally in the game one can get a bad jet at ramp start. I know this is realistic, but can it be an option? If you have 6 guys with families and work, and they finally get together to fly, and they do a 20 minute briefing, and then fix technical issues, and finally get in the game to start their jets, only to have a random bad one, well, it just makes it hard to enjoy the sim. Add to the fact that if they back out and come back in, it can increase the chance of bugs in the campaign! So I would just suggest to make this optional.

Does disabling random failures do this in Falcon BMS.cfg as p13-156 tech manual?

F-16D rear sheet has beendiscussed many times but if possible I want limited features rear-sheet.
I don’t need clickable pit for rear, all I need is flight control and HUD to teach trainees how to fly. -
Hi!

You are speaking about hot-start.
Hot-start (if happens) can be solved by setting throttle to CutOff, then wait for FTIT to go down … Then restart.
If they burn their engine during ramp start, it is not because of the game, but because they do not follow the procedure and/or do not pay attention to their engine temperature during start.
BMS team philosophy: Never any default random failure (not talking about additional random failure option activated in FalconBMS.cfg) that can’t be solved by proper action/procedure.Regards.

If terrain is being upgraded it would be great if water could be made to look better as well. That would make BMS carrier ops even more enjoyable to look at a decent looking ocean.
And while we’re at it, the carrier ops and the F-18 in BMS make that even better please

Need more coordinated community contributions. (thinking texture 3D models) … We can’t do everything.

Why not hire us , and teach us how to do ?
Always the same “story” … :???:
Many “non BMS dev” perfectly knows how to make proper 3D model and campaign and … etc …
Why should be the BMS Dev organizing everything knowing that we already are 150% working. No time to take ppl by hands (especially when we invest time and effort on ppl that do not continue after … I do not count the amount of PM with peoples to coordinate and no more feedback from them after) …
Up to you guys to organize yourselves like we did with the “BMS team group” … and then we put everything in common.
If you use the forum (a thread) as communication/dev platform, we can easily monitor and give some advice from time to time when it is needed.
But note that even when some of us dare to try to give some advice/info, we are told than ppl do not need help nor advice nor info … so … I stop.Maybe the devs could create teams to help them ?
BMS team members can harmonize, give the specs, and some advices and in some ways a limited coordination … but it is not our task to organize 3rd party developments.
It is “yours”.

Is water something you can improve on? Seems like it’s pretty good at the moment. I’d imagine further improvement would require code support for properly animated wave motion.
-
Yes, if this is in relation to my water question above.
My question was because it was hinted that the new terrain would leave behind the tile-based approach for some other method. So I figured that if BMS is going towards procedural terrain, the ocean could come into play here as well. Basically procedurally generated water that can react to weather conditions.
BMS already has a very good weather engine, so it would be great to see the weather (wind speed mainly) affect waves and that way make it more realistic looking.
Maybe for BMS this is out of reach for now, but here is a simple illustration of how dynamic waves can work (code available on Github under the MIT license: https://github.com/dli/waves)

Pretty but, realistically, little would change unless you are flying really slow and low

Seriously? Why the heck would you want to stare at the seas while doing carrier ops? Some people have some strange priorities…

Yep[ and I have a feeling BMS doesn’t really plan to compete with MSFS 2020 as a sight seeing simulator

Same reason for why the terrain is now being worked on, I guess you could call that staring at the terrain. When on the flight deck a better ocean would add to the immersion. When flying across it it would give a sense of speed (if low enough). When landing on the carrier, the waves could affect the flight deck, complicating the trap challenge.
-
It does on take-off, I assume it does on carrier landing too?
-
Hm, do you mean that the wind makes the flight deck move (up or down)? As far as I recall it is stationary regardless of weather.
Edit: According to the naval ops manual, the ship does indeed move with waves as of 4.34. I guess I hadn’t noticed

It directly influences cat launch time.
