CTD's (4.35U1) + HAD fake objects + FPS limiter questions
-
well you should have a flight
okay let me rephrase it then
Do you crash the same when you are flying as a client ?
I only fly as a client, my server is always dedicated.

1. I got Ctd’s with 4.35U1 allmost every mission (KTO)….
I am also experiencing CTD’s frequently in my solo Tiger Spirit campaign, but no logs are .dmp files are generated

…
The thing is that the FPS seems to be locked on 60FPS, never pass it to higher value.
I think that somwhere there is a “limiter” that causes this.
Anyone knows where can i find this “limiter” ?Start / Nvidia Control Panel => Manage 3D Settings => Max Frame Rate
But because you have exactly 60 I’m guessing that’s not your problem… I’m guessing (?) you have a 60hz monitor and are running with v-sync enabled, or running in a windowed mode that forces v-sync.
If you want FPS to be higher than your monitor refresh rate, you must turn off v-sync… both the in-game setting and Nvidia settings … and also run fullscreen-exclusive mode (to bypass Windows DWM which essentially forces v-sync).
This will cause “tearing” artifacts… to solve that, you can enable triple-buffering (in-game, or set v-sync=Fast on the Nvidia control panel).
Next problem … now your nice new GPU (and CPU) will get very hot, because it runs unconstrained… so, revisit the frame-limiter I mentioned above, and set it to something approx 1.40x higher than your monitor refresh rate.

Thank you for the info
you seem to know this stuff, if i do all the changes u said and get 80-90fps, would it be noticed ?
I tell you, running in 60fps seem to me very smooth, no sttutering . . . looking very good.
You said that i will have to watch the heat rising because of the changes . . . my card have one fan and summer is comming, so is 60fps to 80-90fps, recommended ?
(BTW, now with 60fps the max temp of the card is around 38c (18c-19c room temp) )

3 CTDs yesterday in 5 Balkan’s MP missions, 2 for host and one for client (he had no crash log). My (host) CrashLog is here… likely the same issue I reported earlier that the bug has been found but maybe not…

I have to say that this is the greatest version of BMS (4.35U1) simulator due to the great work that the DEV team are doing. But still, those CTD’s are just a PITA . . . but i belive that all the good guys that working on the next update(s) will do great job to solve this problems.

I agree 100% and i’m pretty sure they already know of the fix. Maybe they will put out a U1 Hotfix instead of waiting for U2…

If your monitor is 60hz then I’d continue to run 60fps (with v-sync enabled), if you’re getting good results without stuttering.
If your monitor can run higher, I (personally) notice a slight improvement up to around 75 or 85hz… above that, I really can’t tell much improvement, unless I’m panning around very quickly, and really paying attention to how smooth the rendering is (instead of keeping my eyes on the bandit I just merged with… lol).
I’m sure people have individual opinions on the incremental value of faster refresh rates … also probably depends a lot on your mouse- or head-tracking sensitivity settings.
