Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
-
Ah, now we’re getting somewhere.
With the Helios profile running can you now please make the change from Balkans to Israel (using the same method you used before) and after changing to Israel:
1. Send me a copy of PathNames.ini
2. Then using Regedit navigate to this key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.35 and copy the “curTheater” value exactly and let me have that also. You don’t need to install any more theatres.
I always change theatres via BMS and yes, it is DataAutoUpdate.exe that does all the file copying etc.If you could let me have the above information based on the previous version of DataAutoUpdate.exe you could then try this latest version of DataAutoUpdate.exe
https://www.mediafire.com/file/73cq3eoqhlvslrx/DataAutoUpdate.exe/file
I change from Balkans to Israel and after changing to Israel: The big MAP is ok and the small CPD is not OK (still Balkans)
PathNames.ini
**; Edit the Falcon BMS command line parameters if required.
; All the other settings will automatically update.; Current Falcon BMS Path.
[FALCON_BMS_PATH]
Path = “C:\Falcon BMS 4.35”
Parameters = “-ef”; Current Falcon BMS Theater.
[CURRENT_THEATER]

[MAP_FOLDER]
MapFolder = “Israel”; Current Map Segment Size.
[MAP_SEGMENT_SIZE]
MapSegmentSize = “64”; Current Pilot Callsign.
[PILOT_CALLSIGN]
Callsign = “Falcon316”**and the registry key you asked for:
**Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.35]
“baseDir”=“C:\Falcon BMS 4.35”
“curTheater”=“Israel”
“PilotName”=hex:4d,61,72,63,20,70,69,6c,6f,74,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
“PilotCallsign”=hex:46,61,6c,63,6f,6e,33,31,36,00,00,00**Will now try with the new DataAutoUpdate.exe

Dear Linknet,
Your last DataAutoUpdate.exe solved my problems!
If you want me to test something else, please let me know.Thank You again !

Your last DataAutoUpdate.exe solved my problems!
That’s good. I believe the problem was caused by Dropbox changing the timestamp on some of the map files and even though you stopped using Dropbox the changes still existed. The new version doesn’t rely on the timestamps and so you should be able to move your Documents folder back to Dropbox with no problems.
I’ve updated the first post 4.35-5 download to include the new DataAutoUpdate.exe but unless you’re having problems then there’s really no need to update.

Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated to 4.35-7
Updated 23 April 2021:
The first post has been updated with the latest version.
This replaces version 4.35-6 which had an issue with disposal of memory resources. So unfortunately, if you downloaded 4.35-6, I recommend replacing it with this version.

Hi,
Thanks for the great profile!
Can I ask about BMS 4.35 u1 of ice profile?
I am a BMS beginner.
I have also used Helios a little at DCS.I installed the ice profile according to the manual.
(I may be worried about installing key files.)The display of MFDs, HUD, HMS, RWR, DED, PFL, etc. is working.
I think the export was successful.but I cannot operate the touch panel.
I am using a borderless window.
5760 * 1080 (nvidia Surround) + 4th monitor (helios)When I operate the touch panel, the cursor moves in the cockpit.
Which place should I fix? -
did you pass this line to “zero”?
This line allows the mouse to move from one screen to another.set g_bEnableExclusiveMouseCapture 0 // Captures the mouse when in 3D so that you don’t click something on the desktop when running windowed mode
-
Thank you for replying to me.
“set g_bEnableExclusiveMouseCapture 0”
I tried.
The cursor worked outside the cockpit.
The touch operation worked, but it seems that the signal has not reached the Falcon BMS.
There is no reaction.
What should i do?
Key file? -
yes most certainly the key file which does not correspond between Helios and BMS.
-
Thanks for your advice.
I tried various things, but it didn’t work.
There were no errors in the key file settings.
The keyboard setting has also been changed to US.
I’m giving up.
It is strange that all key touches do not respond either.
Something is wrong.
I will challenge a little more. -
Another issue if BMS does not receive input from Helios and the Key File is correctly set is if Helios Control Center and BMS are running with different user privilege. So if for whatever reason you run BMS with administrative rights Helios must run with administrative rights as well

Dear oakdesign,
What you said was the correct answer.
The ice profile worked fine.
Thank you for your advice.
I forget the basics.I have to study more! -
Not sure how I’m f-ing this up, but when I began using “Version 7” I was able to view my steerpoints on the CPD’s map. Now for some reason I just see the bullseye. Perhaps someone can point me to where I’m screwing this up…
1. Open campaign Save Day in WDP
2. When “Did you save Precision STPT in DTC…” pop-up message appears I select [NO]. (Not sure if this makes any differnece).
3. I go to the Map tab and zoom out. (I also select “Show other flights in Package” if there are any. Not sure if this makes a difference either).
4. Save the Map to C:\Bin\Map.
5. Save DataCard
6. Select [Upd Kneeboard]
7. Close WDPIn Game (w/Helios running)…
1. In the Briefing select [PRINT]
2. Save the DTC.
3. Enter the game…
4. Select CPD…And I have no route…
Any thoughts of what I’m doing wrong??

Firstly, version 7 doesn’t use the WPD map and so doesn’t have a C:\Bin\Map folder so something wrong there.
Finally, step 5. should be reset the profile.

Linknet hit it, there is no MAP folder in the 4.35 versions of Ice’s profile
My procedure :
1. Start 4.35.1, Campaign, Saved Day (or NEW), Commit, stop clock.
2. Choose mission and join as pilot
3. Set up loadout, adjust steerpoints
4. Save Campaign Day/time
5. Open Data Cartridge, Save, Load (load may not be necessary unless you change something)
6. Open Briefing, PRINT (be sure BMS is set to print to file (default)
7. Start Helios and run the profile for 4.35. Your Briefing should show up correctly under the CPD/PLAN tab
8. Start WDP, select the mission, update the kneeboards, and go fly the missionRinse and repeat for each new mission. IF you are running 4.34.4 I believe you need to continue using that old Ice profile if you want the moving map and manually put the correct map in the way you were doing it. For 4.35.1 I would say your best bet is to save your profiles, wipe out the C:\Bin folder and the Helios folders under My Documents and install the latest Ice’s profile and folders. 4.35 Ice profiles load the maps automatically…
This is the latest Helios file structure on my PC-

It’s not a BMS 4.35 or 4.34 thing. It depends on the version of the ICE profile used. The auto map feature has been included with one of the updates. I personally still use a version where I put my own map image into the map folder as I’m putting waypoints not only from my own flight put those from other flights in the package as well as additional information with VMT onto the map

Well, it is and it isn’t, depending on which Ice’s profile you use. If you use the “Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile 4.35-(3-7) Updated for BMS 4.35 U1” profiles you get no map or data passed over in 4.34.4, but the gauges work fine (unless i’m missing something). I actually liked the earlier (is this still out there somewhere?) version with the c:\Bin\Map folder and manual map switching better in many ways because I could at least get the moving map in both versions with it. Writing is on the wall for 4.35.x and I figured may as well move forward and just forgo the moving map for 4.34 as it can’t be long before the CTDs are fixed and i’m 100% invested in 4.35.

Ok, I may see where I went wrong. I simply took “version 7’s” folders and put them into my “version 5” install, and missed any mention no more Map folder.

So from what I understand from Icer & Oakdesign’s comments, the option to show the steerpoints on the CPD map was removed with “Version 7”?? Or is this not correct and I’m missing the point??

Oakdesign shot right over my head with that one, I have 0 idea on how to add more steerpoints to the map for other flights… Your flights steerpoints are automatically generated on the CPD map with (I think?) ALL of the Ice’s 4.35-x versions. You just need to run the sequence of saving/loading/printing before you start the profile or you need to reset Helios if it’s already running when you did your work in the sim…
