What if: Falcon 5 (Poll)

It has already begun.

I dont recognize your authority to conduct this poll…:-P

For me also, I would like a full globe theater with most flyable aircraft on it. Like an MS2020 just with full military capable.
VRS is probably working on a MSFS Tacpack right now. But given the current state of the SDK, it will most probably take a long time, if they ever make it. Flight model for fighters is another issue. And collimated HUDs.
But there is a functional Tacpack for FSX/P3D. The aircraft, weapons and terrain (improvable with mods?) are most likely not on the level of Falcon or DCS, but it is a global combat flightsim.

I think this is most probably the only way forward - add-ons to MSFS 2020. For one, I know that Micro-$$$ had help from MCAIR in developing it’s original Hornet model for MSFS, so they have something decent to start with. The basics are certainly there, but I think it would be up to a third party to bring a tactical add-on - the VRS F/A-18F and TAC Pac combination for MSFS 2020 appear to be the most promising, but is starting to feel like it’s fallen behind schedule. I know I’m certainly looking forward to it, as I already have their F/A-18E for the older MSFS and have to say it’s pretty well done.
Most important would be to get out of F-15/F-18/F-16/F-4/Mig-29/Su-27/Su-35 world : we have this for years and this is just boring : we need something more than this !

https://www.vrsimulations.com/tacpack.phpI know this addon, but it is way far from to be a realistic military level. there is no damage model, no FM, no physics. The aircraft use the same avionics like an civil commercial plane etc.
And there is no military target and enemy behaviour. -

And there is no military target and enemy behaviour. This is not fully right, VRS F/A-18E has a custom avionics suite, and a simulated FBW system.

I keep pushing the red button, but no Falcon 5 comes out…

There is already a TAC Pac available for the old MSFS, so again they have something to start from -

The VRS Super Hornet is probably the most “current” and relevant Hornet sim I’ve seen since the Jane’s one, and like the Jane’s one models real Hornet avionics/displays - just not ALL of them and not in the most current cases, but at least they are/were fantastic and very well implemented for what they did in accord with their release dates.
The only complaint I have (and it’s not strictly a complaint, really) with the MSFS Hornets is that the model is very sensitive to what controller you’re using - it wants very stiff controllers, probably because of the MCAIR involvement with the development and using real or near real numbers…it’s very easy to over-control them with something like a CH stick, and frankly it was fooling around with the Legacy Hornets in MSFS that made me relegate my own CH stick the the back of a closet. I MUCH more prefer how stiff the Warthog stick is, and if I could make it stiffer I would.

@Hanash:
BMS will remain a low-cost alternative:D
alternative to what?

“High quality low cost” vs “High cost low quality” …. Yes everybody knows that

I am lucky to be in a team that has very talented people. The diversity and cultural richness in the BMS team is something that blew my mind. On top of that cultural richness you have very skilled people that have some very interesting backgrounds, they do it in their free time and take the skills they have as professionals to make BMS what it is today. The future is bright for BMS.

4.36 might very well answer the question, even from Microprose’s perspective.
Explain better pls

Having read this years ago, knowing how special and unlikely to ever be built again by a company, the dynamic campaign engine is truly unique to Falcon and is ‘why’ it will always be the most complete F-16 combat flight simulator:

No chance in hell Microprose would make such a deep and detailed study sim. I won’t say ‘again’, since original F4.0 was nowhere near what we have here.
It was pretty damn revolutionary and well ahead of its time for '98 though, you have to admit. It’s like saying the first iPhone was crap because the current iPhone is so much better, 13 years later.

I think that what Microprose and BMS do will remain different branches and will remain independant, even if this means to go underground again.
