Falcon BMS - Interactive Maps

@jayb Make sure to clear your cache and / or reload the page; I am confident that Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Brave work on Windows.

Thank you guys for the interactive map

Yes, it works on my desktop no problem. I should have mentioned that I have issues in Firefox on my Android phone with KTO, sorry for that.
For example, if I select Gunsan the map does pan, but onto a place in North Korea (map area 5.4). If I try Chrome on the Android phone, it pans to an area over the water (map area 2.0). Could it be some map vs. phone resolution calculation that causes this mismatch?
A small usability thing if possible and/or useful: On desktop (Firefox or Chrome) if I select, say, Osan and get the red ring and centered focus, if I then pan by scrolling the bars the ring disappears. the red marker disappears. Would be awesome to be able to find an airfield, get the red marker ring, and be able to scroll to offset the map while keeping the airfield on the screen still.

@jayb Any touch will erase the circle but I can look at changing behavior for future updates in when and how the circle gets removed. Also thinking about leaving the modal popup with the frequencies unless you explicitly cancel (today a touch outside of the model popup will close it). I have a very old Kindle FireHD with the ânakedbrowserâ which has the best performance for me and I will try to get that to work which will probably make it all work for all Androids. On iPhones and iPads all work already correctly.
-
@ohommes That sounds great, thank you. If you ever need someone to test Android devices I have both a 5" phone and 12" tablet on which I can test if that could help.
Edit: Just checked that the modal freq+chart popup stays up even though scroll/pan takes place. One idea maybe: Have a button/link in that popup to recenter on the airbase in question and recover the red marker
-
To avoid seeing the black margin for the new charts you can install on Firefox an extension called 'Old Image Style". This will give all charts a white background and so the charts look nicer for the new chart sizes. Possibly a similar extension exists for other browsers.

Thankx for the update, but still no circle for me. Incheon is clicked, but no circle appears. I did refresh the page, tried it in an incognito browser window to purge cookiesâŠ
edit: NVM, circle appears when airbase is selected from the drop down! itâs not meant to appear when clicking on the base then user error, move along

Refresh in that case is not enough then. Do you emptied your browser cache as well?

@Micro_440th See my edit above please, tnx!

Yep, seems to work in all the browsers for Win 11. Well done and thanks!

Update July 15th 2022
Added mission.ini drag and drop
When you drag and drop a Mission.ini file onto the interactive map you will see the preplanned
threats, flight plan with waypoints and the steerpoint line markings. This is useful when briefing
in conjunction with the whiteboarding. -
@Micro_440th Thatâs great work, really. Thanks !
-
@Micro_440th For those who use iPad Mini or regular iPad as your kneeboard like me, you can drag and drop in split screen from your shared drive to the Interactive map. Here is a screenshot running split screen after dropping the file into the map. I will work on a scroll lock for iPad so you can also measure on the iPad (to be done).
-
Canât wait for the other maps to be done, thanks @Micro_440th !!

Update July 19th 2022
Added whiteboard function
In whiteboard mode you should not use the ruler and if you do you will ERASE what you have drawn.
To start drawing select the pencil from the toolbar and start drawing. You can use the eraser from
the toolbar to erase sections on the whiteboard (this will also erase .ini data).
You can select clear/delete icon from the toolbar to remove all the markups and redraw the .ini
data.To Reset everything on the map you can select the reset icon at the bottom of the toolbar.
Go ahead and give your briefings with the Whiteboard option and share your screen with Discord or
Jitsi. -

Nice! Is there a way to keep the ruler settings on screen?
