Airstrikes in the campaign
-
Hi!
I have questions about attacks on some ground targets in the campaign.
Does it make sense to attack:
- HQs?
- Bases?
- Radar (EWS) sites?
- Radio towers?
- Depots?
- Power plants?
- Factories?
- Ports?
-
@Supernova i think that the destruction of most of them will give some effect for a scenario of a long war (10+ days), but not for a 2-3 day blitzkrieg towards Pyongyang.
In any case, find where the enemy is, strike as soon as you can, strike as hard as you can and keep moving…
-
Yes it does have effect.
Just 2 examples. If you kill radars, the opponent will not see you or see you later. And yes this makes a difference when the AI spots you. In case you fly H vs H, you can actually see the result on the UI map.
PowerStations supply power to the Factories.
And Factories have effect on supply. Sure this will take a longer time to have effect, but all this is running in the campaign engine. -
In that case, there is no need for me to attack it. Airfields, air defenses, and ground units are more important targets.
-
@Supernova you don’t strike all targets at once. Prioritize your strikes.

@Falcas Good Info falcas and Good if this all works. I wondered myself because I once had a Theater without any of the most objects mentioned. Still the campaign played as if it had no need for these? But maybe it’s more of a balance kind of thing where it tips to one side or the other. So even 1 objective of that kind on both side can run a campaign. But probably no output or not as intended.
-
Thx for the info…
Knew radars counted but never knew PowerStations supply power to the Factories.
Nice to know.

Sure a campaign will also run without it. Else the code would need really specific setup of a campaign to work.
There is soo much flexibility with this.
But sure its also a question, how much do you actually notice -

In MC go to the map, select “Show Power Grid”
KTO is a bad example for this as it doesn’t have many factories. -

Hi Supernova.
Everything is related in some way. For example, if you attack an HQ you will decrease the action capacity of enemy engineer battalions. If you destroy the food factories, the rations for the soldiers are reduced and that affects morale. Falcon is awesome. -

Yes, the dynamic campaign in the BMS is unique. I haven’t seen anything like this before. By the way, what does troop fatigue and morale affect? Maybe even create a manual on the campaign and its management…?

That’s a good question!

Totally agree my friend!

Hmm… Maybe the faces of the infantry are getting grimmer?
-
Other question that i have is about artillery. How they influence the ground battle?
