Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37

If you open up the profile in the Profile Editor and look in the Interface Status for Keyboard, select the Gear Icon for settings and enable Key Input. Then in the Bindings > Input panel under Keyboard you can select keys to bind to items in the profile.

@linknet
ok thanks…,.
i have an extra hardware button device “joystick” its a removable hardware device…
were are the buttons ? i can use only keyboard ? -
@giannis_plt
Helios does support loading interfaces such as the Thrusmaster Combined interface allowing you to program joystick buttons for input to Helios. But that’s the only one I’m aware of, I’m sure there must be more. Perhaps someone else might have some input (excuse the pun) on this. -
@linknet I see you’ve posted version 02 but any chance of changelogs? Thanks!
-
@Atlas It was just a few fixes to correct issues with 436-01, so not worth documenting.
-
@linknet Thank you

@Icer what do you have your Simgears ICP attached to? Could you PM me the details? Thanks!

Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated to 4.36-03
Updated 20 July 2022:
The first post has been updated with the latest version.
Please note the requirement for BMS Falcon 4.36 and Helios Version 1.6.5305.2 or later.
This adds an additional profile which uses RTT MFDs for both the Centre Console and the Zoomed Console. This is still somewhat experimental and full setup instructions are provided in a separate Setup Guide. If you aren’t experiencing lagging MFDs with the standard profile then I wouldn’t recommend changing to this since there wouldn’t be any advantage.

@linknet Great job!! Can’t wait to get back home and give it a try!

Just a quick question: does “-03” incorporate the new comm’s menu in Update 1??
(Note - The wingman/element/flight menus have changed a bit).

@linknet Copy.
Just for everyone’s SA, IIRC, the big changes can be found on Page 34 in the BMS Comm & Nav Book. Most notable changes are:
4 Weapons Free AA
5 Weapons Free AG
6 Weapons Hold
7 Check your Six
8 Check my Six
9 Attack Targets -
Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated to 4.36-04
Updated 22 July 2022:
The first post has been updated with the latest version.
Please note the requirement for BMS Falcon 4.36 U1 and Helios Version 1.6.5305.2 or later.
Added the BMS Falcon 4.36 U1 updated charts.
Updated the Radio Comms menu with the BMS Falcon 4.36 U1 changes.
This also adds an additional profile which uses RTT MFDs for both the Centre Console and the Zoomed Console. This is still somewhat experimental and full setup instructions are provided in a separate Setup Guide. If you aren’t experiencing lagging MFDs with the standard profile then I wouldn’t recommend using this since there wouldn’t be any advantage. -
@linknet Great job! Thank you.

@linknet, thank you for making the update. Unfortunately I have been unable to download it via mediafire. I’m wondering if anyone else is having issues?
I can get to the initial mediafire page ok but when clicking on the Download button I get a “Site can’t be reached” error. I submitted an issue to mediafire yesterday but nothing has come of it yet. I will continue to wait for a response from mediafire but I am curious if there is something else that could be done?
Thanks!

@linknet, you can disregard my last post. I figured out that it is a problem with the DNS Filtering I am using that for some reason blocks the specific server serving up your .zip file. I was able to get the file downloaded.

Hello Ice
Thank you for the update. Great thing. Since I’m new to using Helios, I have a concern.
Since I, like many others, use the German keyboard layout, my question:
Is it possible to convert the key file from Us to German or is this firmly anchored in your profile?
The problem is that other non-Helios programs open with key combinations, making flying with BMS actually impossible. It just doesn’t work online at all.
I hope you can give me a tip on how to change that, or do you already have something in the works?greeting

@Hunter-0
I know that other users with a German keyboard are running it without any problems after implementing the fix in the “Non-US Keyboard Guide” found in the download. So have you implemented that fix?With that fix Helios will use the US Keyboard for sending QWERTY keystrokes even though your default keyboard will still have the German layout.
