Not to sound harsh, but that is not how they work. The nose section of the GBU is free to move from aerodynamic forces, and its critical that its can. The angle of the nose is what tells the guidence system the flight path of the bomb. The offset of the flight path to the laser spot is what informs the guidence inputs. The fins behind the nose section are what steer the bomb, not the nosecone.

@SOBO-87
White_Fang is maybe confusing with PIII seeker (?) -

Not at all harsh. I guess , not here for arguing, but Thanks ??
As @Dee-Jay said, I was just using pwy3 tech on pwy2/4 kit ⌠that it seemed sound?.. I guess., diff WOULD BE that pwy3 uses front actuated fins rather then whole CCG head.
But why the heads point down, in inactivated state then ?
pwy3 and newer (pwy2 alike - eg gbu-49) have fixed heads (CCG) - inline with the bomb body , not pointing down.Eh, why? (I canât imagine having them moving freely with all aircraft maneuvering, that could break them in essence, (not in bays duh) ⌠only other explanation is they are fixed, hold, in idle , inactive state until pickle when hold/brake release , giving head âautonomyâ - could be essentially moving gyro for stabilization of travel, while wings do guidance )
p.s. sorry , some mayor fuckup happened posting this 4 times, deleted extra

⌠ok ⌠stop buddy. Please at some point, trust the ppl dealing with those âevery daysâ.
Watch carefully and if necessary, at low speed âŚ

@white_fang The nose of the bomb on the PW 1, 2 and 4 is free moving. It is not moved in any way apart from airflow. Yes this means that the nose of the GBU dips when you pull AoA on the aircraft.
It DOES NOT steer the bomb. It is simply what tells the bomb how and where it is flying. Think of it like an AoA vane on the side of the fuselage of an aircraft. Except it is not just for pitch AoA, itâs also for Yaw AoA.
Steering control of the bomb is done by the fins behind the free moving nose.

PS: I couldnât get used to the new forum. I couldnât understand how the part about Dee-Jay came up in this message. Despite my best efforts, I couldnât fix it.

@Sokol45 Nice shot first one!
Almost fooled me

@Sokol45 Absolutely stunning shots. You working with JTAC there? Which theatre is it ?
-
@jayb I tested how JTAC works in the Balkans theater. With this even more challenging missions can be created

Is pretty screenshot broken? Iâve set it to 1 in the falcon bms.cfg but all labels and text are still showing up.
I have Reshade. I am not sure if it affects and disables pretty. But BMS and Reshade make their own screenshots into separate folders.

Hello !
I really appreciate this moment of joy, when you just finished a model and everything works fine !

I wanted to do some nostalgia. The F-15C was also beautiful with its old paint. Here is the latest member of my Eagle project: old eagle (under construction)
