The new UI is too small for me
-
@MaxWaldorf
This works thank you! I didn’t see these options in the manuals either but very happy with this! -
@ohommes A bit curious, did you manage to scale higher than 1080 without black bars ?
Cheers,
JayB -
@jayb max just posted how above….
-
@Kevstosmart yeah I still get black bars if I scale above 1080 with those options (on a 1440 monitor)
-
@Supernova time to get a new computer and a large screen.
I fly bms with 34 ultra wide in 3440x1440
-
For those with 1920x1080 still wishing to see e.g. Teamspeak at the same time, you can switch to the old UI (no black bars) by adding to Falcon BMS User.cfg
set g_nScaleUIMode 0 set g_nInternalUIResolutionMode 0
It’s not as useful for creating TEs though…
… and use at your own risk -
@Wolfman That puts the window in the upper left. I know Ctrl-Enter allows you to drag it wherever you want, but after dragging how do you get it to stay where it was dragged the next time you start BMS?
-
@b0bl00i
You’re right. But for at least a couple of years a new PC will be the thing I need the least. Real life is more important, whether it’s good or not. -
@Wolfman bad advice…
Don’t revert to old UI… Bad things might happen and that will be disabled at some point and people will leave it as is…
-
@jc1 it used to be (4.36) that you enabled the border, dragged the windows to where you wanted it. Then it stayed there next time you started BMS. Btw. the border could be disabled again after the move.
But as MaxWaldorf indicated, don’t expect this to be tested or supported with 4.37.
Keep in mind this was for Supernova, giving him a workaround till he could upgrade his rig.Cheers

@Supernova Always!

@chihirobelmo said in The new UI is too small for me:
come on 1366x768 is quite small and a 1920*1080 monitor can be only 100USD nowadays!
I don’t think you can play BMS 3D comfortably reading MFDs with such a resolution.1366x768 works great for my MFD’s … as in, I bought a second monitor to place below my 1920*1080 just for MFD’s and DED, some other goodies, and it happens to be 1366x768 … lol
But to have that 16:10 resolution for the entire cockpit & BMS in general would be super hard to comfortably read the MFD’s no doubt.@Supernova Does your laptop have an HDMI or other Video Out port? If so, you could attach any monitor and use that instead of the laptop display - if it doesn’t throttle and stutter, you could even use the laptop monitor placed below a real monitor and then put MFD’s and gauges, etc. onto that lower screen for SA and use the larger external monitor for the cockpit & sim.

@SemlerPDX
Yes, I can. But first I have to buy a newer computer. My laptop isn’t that bad, but something newer is better. For example in BMS, when there are a lot of troops around me at the same time, my laptop feels pretty bad. -

Ok I see that I’m not the only one with this problem. And getting a 1080p display is not a solution because my display (projector) is 1080p and it’s still unreadable!
This is quite standard resolution for a projector. No way I’m gonna downgrade to a tiny monitor just to be able to read the UI. So if you want to play the game on an epic glorious 1080p projector the game is currently unplayable!
Well technically it’s playable but you have to get up and stand about 2 feet away from the screen to read the UI.

Temporary workaround. Assign a button in Steam controller configuration to use the magnifying glass to zoom in on UI text.
