Has anyone bought and tested the TM TQS?
-
I “think” you will need to use the TM “Target” software for that.
-
Ignore my previous post.
It seems using a combination of the AL and setup “controllers” once in 2D is not compatible?
If anyone has a definative “idiot proof” way of describing how I get all the buttons assigned (not just registering cause they do that already) in the Alt Launcher I would be really greatful.
I’ve ticked “virtual buttons” in the TM control panel software and every button movement registers in the Alt launcher but positions such as “off” for Master Arm for example cannot be assigned.
If someone was able to explain just how to assigned the three Master Arm positions I’m sure the other 3 way switches would be easier to understand and map subsequently for me.
Thanks in advance and best wishes,
Gary

your not alone i can’t for example program the 2 way switch CAT I and III
Well it should work because CAT I (Dx45) is bind but it doesn’t work… see the short Video
Info for the Video, i was moving the Switch CAT I to CAT III and back again, but although CAT I was mapped it didnt show up als mapped

@Echo dx 45 is “pushed” continously…
Delete the other dx and assign dx45 but unpressed option not pressed.
CatI dx45 pressed
Catiii dx45 unpressed -
@Gary this is how I’ve made It
Dx1 press máster arm on
Dx1 unpress máster arm off
Dx2 unpress máster arm off
Dx2 press máster arm simChange the dx number for yours
Edit, i supposse if máster arm off is dx is possible you need to add:
Dx1 unpress máster arm off
Dx2 unpress máster arm off
Dx3 press máster arm off -
@Gary Some of the off positions will program in the Alt Launcher while some will not. That is and has always been an issue with Alt Launcher. You can go into your key file and manually add it. It’s not that hard.
-
@Echo All you need to know is the button number of the off position, or in your case the CAT III position. Add the line into your key file manually.
-
According to Thrustmaster it is supposed to work with Target. So, I have no clue why it won’t recognize it.
-
Thx for the idea, bot do you have virtual buttons activated ?
Because Cat I is DX45 and CAT III is DX59
Okay now i get it, with out the virtual buttons aktiv
-
@Echo I have virtual buttons highlighted and the virtual buttons are not always recognized in the AL. I just use a press/release option if that is the case
-
@cougar56th
yeah noticed it right now Laser ARM and OFF dont be recogniozed always the dx48 -
In my limited experience the AL always recognises the DXnumber - just not possible to assign them all.
I’m sure the “DXxx release” suggestion is probably really easy - but sorry, I’m not sure exactly how you go about doing this?
So for example. Let’s take the master arm example.
In the AL key mapping section I find the entry for master arm on - select the box for my TQS - double click and it flashes “awaiting input” so I click the switch on panel up, it recognises my key press and assigns it correctly.
I can do exactly the same for the switch location in the down position and assign “sim”
How do I assign the “off” position?

Gary

Take a look for Master
Set the Master switch to OFF then double click the OFF postiton and then change the Press to
Release and switch the switch to all Up and all Down postionwith this “trick” thx to @Skorp and @cougar56th i now have set every switch

Thank you. Got it I think. And thanks to all who have helped in this thread!
What do you map PRGM “bit” to? (I have 1,2,3,4 mapped ok)

Hehe i know this will come up, i just left it empty i checking the manual but i think its not implemented
And don’t be supriesed the switch from “Pitch ALT HOLD / A/P / ATT HOLD” is not movin in 3D, at least when i tested it in the GroundOPs TE
Edit: didnt find any info in the 34 about the BIT at the CMDS

One thing to keep in mind is that the new TM TQS also uses “virtual buttons” in addition to physical switch positions. Looking over the manual, is appears that virtual buttons must be enabled/assigned to get three position selections to work as expected. Double check.
-
thats correct, but the Alternativ Launcher sometime doesn’t recognizes when your are moving the switch from “real” dx to a “virtual” dx postion , so it was with me / my TQS
-
Thanks and yes “virtual buttons enabled” - just don’t work as expected. That ios to say the virtual buttons are recognised in the AL but you are not able to assign them! - hence the “release” workaround. Which does works as some very helpful others have outlined above. Mine all set now too thanks all.

All sorted now thank you.
My pitch ALT hold etc etc all functioning and showing as such in 3D.
I’ve been using the Nav TE for my testing and setting up but doubt that makes any differance!
Thanks for all your help.

We should write a summary about the dx issue and pin it with the workaround
